This cafe that has been there for decades has been fully renovated in the last 10 years. You sit, inside or out, taking in the breathtaking views of Lyme Bay from the top of the Cliffs. Great fresh sandwiches made to order with crisps and salad garnish. Homemade hearty soups in the winter and a selection of superb homemade cakes,... More

Got off Cliff Railway at 4.30 walked the 50yards to the cafe (doors were open, customers were seated lights were on) and were told in no uncertain terms that "you can't come in we are shut" by an unpleasant woman behind the counter. We took our business elsewhere.

Just one of those things you must do to say I went down and up on the railway. As an OAP not to good at climbing up and down this gave us easy access to the beach below so we were able to explore places that we would not normally be able to get to.

Staff very helpful and friendly, can get busy but nearly £25.00 for three sandwiches tea coffee and glass milk is way expensive, it's not the sort of places you could go with large family it would cost a fortune. It would be ok for couples who like to eat in peace and can afford the prices.

The only let down for me about The Cliff Railway Cafe is how difficult it can be to get a table because it's so popular - the food is tasty (I have only had scones and cake), the place is clean, the staff are friendly and the views are spectacular - go for those alone!

First return visit for over a year and delighted to find that it was as good as we remembered - very good ! We were fortunate enough, to obtain one of the valued window tables, with the fabulous view over the bay and the timeless cliff railway. Crab sandwiches of super quality, again graced our table and made more enjoyable,... More

We stopped off here, only for a drink and an ice cream and to use the toilet! We sat outside (luckily a beautifully sunny day in October!) and admired the stunning views of the sea and surrounding areas/bays. Lovely, friendly service with a smile too! Would definitely recommend.

My wife had ordered hot drinks & a cake in what is an amazing view of babbacombe. When the manager brought over the drinks he clumsily spilled a boiling hot chocolate drink everywhere. Some of it went over my wife's leg through her trousers. At no point did he apologise. He exclaimed that most had missed her. He was more... More

You are right in saying that I spilt a drink over the table and an amount of it on your wife's trousers. It was an accident. That's pretty much where the accuracy of your review ends. I apologised to you, moved you to a different table, replaced your drinks and then came back to check on you again. Just in... More
