Fantastic Pub

Whenever we are staying in Torquay we visit here, Tuesday's Thursday's and Sunday's have live music at 9pm. Never fails to disappoint. Well done Dave, Derreck and the new barman!

This is one if not the best pub restaurant I have ever been in. We were met in the bar and taken through to the restaurant even though we had not pre booked. The restaurant throughout is excellent and spotless, many so called high end restaurants should take note. Staff were very polite and have a sense of humour. All... More

A really great pub to eat and drink in, however getting to it up the hill can be a problem for some people so take your time and it's really worth the visit. This is the only pub I've ever been in where they've got a listed floor, it's made out of pebbles cemented in the floor - a bit... More

A good sign is this pub/restaurant has its regular diners. Staff were very courteous to us strangers and treated us politely. Meal for two (starter and main course with one ice cream and wine) came to £49. Food was very good. This is a very interesting establishment and well worth a visit if only for a drink. Which reminds me,... More

Friendly atmosphere and a lovely drop of scrumpy! Decided to stay for a bite to eat and was so glad we did. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area although best to book if a Saturday.

We found this pub through Tripadvisor and what a find. Ate there on Thursday and Friday evenings 5th and 6th March and wished we'd found it earlier in the week as they were the best meals we'd had in Torquay, and boy, am I picky!! The staff were very accommodating and I loved the ambiance generally. Friday night was pretty... More

Spent a few hour in the pub and had a few drink and a bite to eat. The food we choose was in the bar, sandwiches and chips. It was well presented and plenty of it. The beer was well kept and the bar staff including the person serving the food at the table were very pleasant.

My wife and I took a walk into the town and wanted to try out Torquays oldelts pub. We popped in for a lunchtime drink to find dirty tables and floors, blunt and unfriendly staff and found much nicer pubs around the town with equal Character. Staff had a hard job to even greet us, in fact the greeting was... More

Visited this gorgeous old pub on Sunday 22nd February, we (partner and I) had heard about it and decided to go there for a drink in the evening. Very welcoming and a good choice of real ale's (for partner). There was a guy playing the guitar and singing and then it was a free for all for anyone who could... More
