Brilliant pub that is part of our visits to Torquay. That a traditional pub with its locals and friendly landlord can exist so close to the more brash harbour front is very surprising. Always feel entirely safe here. Restaurant is nicely separated from the pub and serves excellent food. I reealy cannot see why negative riviews are written about this excellent... More

Cant really comment on much of the food as we only ordered steaks. My wife had the sirloin and I chose the Rib Eye. Both were good but the Rib Eye was excellent. Plenty of chips/potatoes + other veg all washed down with a couple of superbly kept pints of Tribute. Lots of reasons to go back!

Great atmospheric pub. Good service. Perfect lunchtime jacket potato. All in all a top job - these locations are becoming fewer & fewer - use them or lose them!

Adequate, we chose it as very close by to our Guest House and we were tired after long journey. It was mentioned by the owner. Liked the quaintness but food was very average.

The oldest pub in Torquay tucked away up a side road near to the harbour. the old world decor follows a sea theme with charm and warmth. we ate there and the food was super and the barman recommended the jail ale, what can i say teriffic. Will eat there again when visiting

We ate at the hole in the wall a few days ago while on holiday. Upon arrival the waiter was very rude and we had to wait an extraordinary long amount of time to be offered drinks, bearing in mind there were only two other tables there at the time. He then stood picking his teeth with his fingers infront... More

Probably the oldest pub in Torquay, and also one of the best. Always a good selection of up to six real ales on draught. Efficient and friendly staff. Live music some nights. Nice atmosphere. The restaurant is excellent and is often busy, so booking is recommended. I like The Hole in the Wall and suggest that you give it a... More

It has a nice atmosphere with old world charm. The food was plentiful and well cooked and the beer is good.
