An enjoyable lunch

After visiting the Plymouth Gin Distillery in the same building, we found it was still tipping down with rain, so dodged into the Barbican for a quick lunch. We were tempted by the good value set lunch but our time was limited by a parking deadline so we just had a main course each from the a la... read more

Decided to try the Barbican Kitchen having not been there before and was disappointed! Upon arriving we were shown to our table which was very close to the couple eating next to us, so close in fact that we could hear every word of their conversation. The menus arrived and it was clear that there wasn't a lot to chose... More

We dined here on a recent trip to Plymouth. Every credit to the Tanner brothers. The food is Amazing, service was spot on, Darren our waiter is a credit to the restraunt, very polite, and had a good knowledge of the food on the menu. Superb wine and a very relaxed atmosphere set inside the old gin distillery. We will,... More

I have eaten at the Barbican Kitchen a few times over the years and decided to return for dinner whilst on business in Plymouth. I hadn't booked a table, but arrived when the restaurant opened and was shown to a table on the upper level. The service was friendly and efficient, the wine and menu comprehensive and the quality of... More

I was really pleasantly surprised by the food in this elegant family restaurant. All the vegetable were french and nicely cooked. As a vegetarian, it has been a great eating experience. Good wine list. The staff were nice with our children too.

I love this restaurant, I've never had a bad meal yet. Last night I went there for a birthday celebration with my family & had the John Dory, it was absolutely divine. I'd love to know the recipe for the potato it was served on but I think Messrs Tanner would tell me to leg it if I asked. Lovely... More

Great, fresh food and a wonderful service. Seems too easy to be any good after you've visited the Gin Distillery - but take my word, it's great. Go!

We have eaten at Barbican Kitchen many, many times for both lunch and dinner and it never, ever disappoints. I love the buzzy atmosphere and the fabulous, contemporary decor, furnishings and tableware. The lighting and background music are again, just right. Myself and partner had dinner here on Friday 4th August and then again the following night when we invited... More

We have eaten at the Barbican Kitchen on numerous occasions over the years and can find nothing to complain about - the food is of a high standard and this was again the case when we ate here on Saturday evening. My husband had the duck egg starter whilst I had the heritage tomatoes with whipped goats cheese - truly... More

We had a late lunch here. The place was quite empty but the food was great. It has an interesting decor.
