Good but was I expecting more?

We were looking for somewhere to take out daughter out for a nice meal while visiting her at university and choose here as it has good write ups and looks the part. This restaurant is very hard to get in to at weekends and we were very lucky to get a last minute table. Our whole dining experience was great from start to finish. The restaurant was packed but the level of service we recieved did not suffer at all. The meal was well presented, piping hot and one of the best... More

I was taken here by locals and it was clearly a good choice. The décor is unpretentious, but the food is excellent. I had lemon sole from Looe as my main course and it was excellent. The wine was very good quality. Service was efficient without being obtrusive. The stairs up to the restaurant are steep and I am not... More

................ Admittedly it was a Beefeater way back then. How this restaurant is (at the time of writing) 76 out of 530 Plymouth Restaurants is very surprising and must mean there are some damn fine eateries left to explore in the City. I guess not being the cheapest restaurant in town knocks it down the list, but to be honest... More

It's hard to get into because it serves very good food in good surroundings, so you need to book in advance. The wine is a little pricey, but it is always a good night.

Cant fault this place, simply fantastic. Great local food, very friendly staff who explain the menu and really good value for money. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and you feel almost honoured to dine hear. One of the best in Plymouth

We went as a late valentines meal on Tuesday so it wasn't very busy but still had a great atmosphere. The food was ready surprisingly fast considering there was a table of 16 in at the same time. I had chargrilled chicken and it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. My boyfriend had the beef burger and seemed to enjoy... More

My wife and I have eaten at the Kitchen many times, and generally the food and service is excellent, so we decided to walk in without reservation and had already decided if Liver was on the menu we would order it. No starter and straight to Calves Liver with bacon, mash potato, onion, horse radish (in potato), tastiest sauce ever,... More
