We were recommended to go here by a family friend - and the food was delicious (John Dory was perfectly cooked) and the service incredibly fast. Really enjoyed the meal.

One of the best seafood restaurants around. Particular favourites are the calamari and skate. Well worth a visit if you find yourself on the Barbican!

About three weeks ago the menu was reprinted, the lunch menu has been scrapped in favour of a daytime menu ending at 6 but the significant changes on the new indestructible dark folded card is the absence of some of the core stalwart hearty non fish options, notably the moussaka which has been a delight from the foundation of the... I have been working long days, only Sen the inside of the hotel and eating in there. Last-night after returning my meal 3 times, ending up with a free meal, time to venture out. Platters it was, it not 5* silver service, but cracking fresh fish. Will I return, does Dolly Parton sleep on here back ...

Trawling the restaurants and really fancied Chowder, platters had it on their starter menu so in we went, I ordered prawns for a starter and asked for the chowder as a main, this was no problem for them, my Partner had the seafood paella both meals were excellent and the chowder was the tastiest I've had. The waitress was so... More

Visiting Plymouth with 2 friends. We'd noticed how busy this restaurant was on the Friday night and decided to give it a go the following eve. We were so glad we did (& lucky to get a table) The atmosphere was lovely, everyone (diners & staff) were all so friendly. Scallops starter delicious & the paella was plentiful & very... More

Platters is nearly as old as the Barbican and when I knew I was coming, I knew I would end up eating here. If you want good tasty locally caught fresh fish, look no further. The place is small and resembles a cafe with it's bench seating and you will smell like a chip shop when you leave but the... More

Have been going to Platters for years. It serves fantastic seafood, especially fish and chips. The service is always great and consistent. It is a great venue for one which you drop into rather than book ahead. Often it is too busy to immediately get a table but tell the waiter you'll be back in ten and you normally get... More
