Arrived in Plymouth fairly late and after booking into our hotel were in dire need of a meal. Good feedback on the restaurant through Tripadvisor so called them. The owner mentioned that he had a large party due in so "turn up as quickly as possible" to avoid too much delay. Managed to get there quickly and served without delay... More

This restaurant is always buzzing with diners enjoying their fish. The restaurant itself is basic and certainly not swish but out of our party of eight, seven were very happy with their meals. The decor has a 'fishy' theme but is a bit drab. On the plus side, you can see the chefs at work, which boosts a diner's confidence,... More

This restaurant is on the Barbican and serves freshly cooked fish most of which is caught locally. This is great for simple cooking, friendly service all at a very good price.

Always a busy place, booking is needed. We had an enjoyable meal but not quite top drawer. Waiters were friendly but seemed to rush so they could turn the table round and lack of choice in how fish was cooked was seen as detrimental. One of our party had the Scallops Provincale and the sauce was top quality so a wider... More

Really enjoyable time at platters, I had the sea bass special and my partner had the seafood tagliatelle (and let my kidnap some of his sauce to add to my fish!) really really delicious food at a reasonable price, definitely planning a return visit.

Friendly staff and warm welcome. More than happy to help as we had a new born baby in a pram. The owner Nick even had a cuddle so we could eat our food whilst hot.

Read reviews in a local magazine about Platters while on holiday in Plymouth...so glad we did or we could have missed out on the best fish dishes of our lives!! Fish pie is out of this world...jam-packed full of local catch and so tasty...trio of fish perfectly cooked, crab cakes and scallops for starters were equally fresh and tasty. No... More

Was looking for some English Fish & chips, after touring the UK and eating all the countries different national dishes..arrived at the lovely waterfront area in Plymouth (Barbican), the exterior looked inviting, the crowds and smokers outside, so sat inside, greeted by a busy waiter who showed me to a table, I ordered the Three fish meal and chips. Whilst... More

Whenever I visit Plymouth I always have a meal at Platters as in my opinion it is the best fish restaurant in the UK! It is all about the fish/seafood. Fresh, decent portions and simply delicious.
