A fantastic Real Ale House in Plymouth, 9-10 Real Ales and Real Cider too...an oasis in a desert of rubbish bars and crappy pubs. The Sunday Roast at £4.99 is a must! At other times feel free to bring in your own food from the myriad of food outlets in the near vicinity.

Proper pub, nice drinkers.

Nice pub, with no flashiness. Best pub for rugby - free curry at half time . But would be better if they added a few small TVs

Fantastic traditional pub that has a very strong focus on real ale. Steve the landlord and his team are superb - the pub does what it says on the tin!

For the real ale drinker visiting Plymouth, this pub is a must. There are several good ale houses in Plymouth but there is clear daylight between them and The Fortescue. It offers an ever changing choice of the regions best real ale plus good choices from around the UK. There is also a good selection of real ciders. The staff... More

Went to the Fortescue as it had won a few CAMRA award and i do love a good real ale. I'm pleased to say i wasn't disappointed, a very good choice of ales and ciders. Some good tunes on the jukebox. It was just a shame i had a table booked for dinner otherwise i could have stayed all night... More

Very good beers will have to try the Sunday roast. Loved the beer garden and the jukebox not the fruit machines.

Not sure why the Fortescue has a listing under Restaurants when it offers only a simple Sunday lunchtime car very deal to go with your mellow weekend pint. Been in here a few times at that time. Some people downstairs and you see an occasional plate in the main bar.More relaxed and certainly better value than the Hyde Park and... More

This has to be my favourite pub on mutley. Friendly atmosphere, community vibe and a large range of cider and ale. Bit pricey for a student though!

The Fort is an excellent community pub with an extremely good range of beers and various darts/sports teams, a quiz etc etc. I think you can only eat at Sunday lunch (Sunday roast) but you can take in food on other days. It is a very popular pub as you can see from its winning various awards. There is a... More

This is a great place for a drink with mates - friendly bar staff, ever-changing selection of beers (many local to Devon/Cornwall). It's just a proper boozer which is hard to come by these days.
