Popped in here to order a take away after a fun day out. The fish was freshly cooked to order so had to wait about 10 mins. The food was good and the kids boxes were a good touch what was disappointing however was the size of the portions of chips. I ordered large cod and chips and the bottom... More

Fish and chips were lovely but very small portion of fish for the price. Takeaway was a 12 minute wait! Batter very light and oil very fresh. Liked the cardboard boxes for takeaway. Everything tasted good but I did feel let down by size of portion and lengthy wait. Pleasant and polite serving staff, but I was unsure where to... More

So today we returned to harbourside after our initial visit which I was overall disappointed with the size and quality of the fish. When putting my initial review on here I received a message from Sarah regarding my meal. She agreed to replace my meal for the jumbo Cod and chips for free on this visit. On arrival it was... More

Knowing how good the fish is here, I decided to try a burger for a change. The double cheeseburger is advertised as being '100% beef' and sourced from a 'local butcher'. Having received it, I don't believe this for a second. Firstly it was soo over cooked, the burgers had the texture and appearance of cardboard, and secondly, it was... More

I am really sorry you had such a bad meal at Harbourside. You are right the burgers could be cooked a lot better which is why this week we have had a Charcoal Grill installed. We will also be changing the thickness of our burgers so they aren't so crispy. They are 100% beef and are supplied by Voisons a... More

This is a clean, smart and bright eatery. We were greeted with a smile and had soon ordered and taken our seat. I sipped from a glass of Tribute while we waited for our food to be cooked. We both had line-caught haddock which was lovely with thin, crispy batter not the thick, soggy stuff beloved of so many "chippys" the... More

We love fish and chips and all to often it is a big disappointment but NOT here. The haddock is line caught and tasted really lovely and very fresh. The chips also freshly cooked and no hint of rancid oil here and even took the trouble to list the origin and variety of potatoes. Mushy peas tasted really good too.... More

This is the best chips we have ever eaten. I do not know if it is the potatoes or oil? If so what are they please. Have never devoured chips so quickly. Unfortunately as only there for two evenings unable to return. We will certainly be having a full meal on our next visit.

Upon visiting Plymouth I was promised that I would get to taste the best chips on the south coast and the promise was not wrong. The chip shop was a quaint little place on the Harbourside, we sat inside as it was dark and drizzling, but I can imagine that on a lovely sunny day, sitting outside in the seating... More

This is a lovely little fish and chip shop and the woman on the counter was superb in her skills and a great asset to the shop. The fish and chips were fresh and beautifully tasty. I would recommend it to anyone on a visit or who lives here. I was on vacation. Again a great welcome and someone who... More
