Best fish and chips with really good and efficient service. The only comment is the they charge for for credit card payments, it's not a problem but you need to know.

The chip shop in town used to be Benbow street but those days are long gone now. Francines is excellent. The small cod and chips for around £4.70 is basically a normal fish and chips anywhere else. The fish is excellent and the chips always brilliant. Food cannot be argued with. The only reason I have not given an excellent... More

I have purchased many meals from this shop and have never come across ill manners or witnessed it. The shop is very clean and the food exemplary. The portions are very large and one walks away with a feeling of contentment. You really could feed two with one portion of fish and chips. The children's meals meet with the same... More

After hearing many reviews about Francine's we decided to try them last week to see what all the fuss was about. WOW, the portion sizes are huge! Excellent quality cod and fresh crispy chips. It was about 7pm on a Thursday night when we went, the shop was fairly busy but as we only wanted cod and chips we waited... More

Sadly I need to echo the sentiment of the last contributor who got short shrift from one of the counter staff. Maybe there have been some changes but as of the end of January 2014 the food is still very good, the prices fair and the premises clean and roughly appropriate. It's a problem of pressure from busy trade.at the... More

we went to francines for the first time last week after numerous recomendations from friends but were dissapointed. The foodwas excellent and the value is beyond believe. unfortunately none of this matters when the staff who serve are rude in every aspect of the word. We were sat waiting as it was really busy and there was allot of noise... More

Not close enough to the staff to know what goes on but there seem to have been several changes here over the last year or so, both to the interior and the way the place is run. No great cause for complaint, they still do pretty well the best fish and chips in they own is don't know whether it's... More

I buy fish and chips+sausage+ faggots and mushie peas on a regular basis for all the family you get real value for money. When you buy only buy one portion of chips per two persons as the they are huge portions .The whole place is spotless and the service is second to none.
