Description: Every English town or city has its favourite chip shop, especially when you can also sit in and where the shop is a local hub or draws customers from miles around. Francine's is one of those. On the fringe of a very poor area, but award winning constantly busy and renown. Not fine dining but a good option for locals and visitors.fresh fish from the local quay. Best fish and chips we had in England! Got the takeaway - sat down on a bench and listened to the buskers serenade the sunset. The price was reasonable (a tad high) but the quality was very good. A great authentic experience.

This is the best fish and chip shop in Plymouth. It is takeaway only. You can get lots of things apart from fish and chips, such as burgers and kebabs but I have only had the fish and chips as it's so superb. The chips are soft and fluffy with a little crunch. The fish even the regular portion is... More

everything was great, quick service friendly staff and generous portion sizes. Definitely the best fish and chip shop in Plymouth would recommend trying the spicy potatoes.

We've just been to Francine's To buy fish, chips and beans. The food is so delicious We left two empty dishes. The counter staff were quick and bright Their smiling faces caused delight. Inside the shop was really clean (One of the best that we have seen). We give Francine's ten out of ten And will be going back again.

Not usually a fan of the chippy we veered from our usual Chinese or Indian. Have to say outstanding!! My fish and chips were very good and the portion size was more for 2 than 1 person. My husband had burger and chips which he enjoyed immensely. Prices are competitive and service was quick despite the queue. No wonder this... More

Francines has to be the best fish & chip shop in Plymouth and I've tried quite a few in my 70 years. Last night I bought freshly cooked Haddock and regular chips at £5.70 with mushy peas at 90p and it was amazing! The Haddock was large and beautifully cooked with light golden crispy batter and the regular size chips... More

This is our favourite place to buy fish and chips. Other places come and go but Francine's has been consistently good. The portions are huge, very tasty and not greasy, just how we like them. Generally, the waiting time is short and the staff welcoming and friendly. See you again - soon.

Best fish and chips with really good and efficient service. The only comment is the they charge for for credit card payments, it's not a problem but you need to know.
