This is a great pub in a very small village recommended by the Hillhead Farm B&B (wonderful place to stay). The pub was walking distance and we ate there on the evening of England's first world cup game. Being from the US but having spent the past 10 months in England, we've experienced enough Pub food to know that many... More

The food was excellent and service very good. As the food was so good we were surprised by the prices.

Been here before and it was exceptional. A good but not overcrowded menu with a price range to suit most. Comfortable seating and a nicely decorated area for eating. Main course portions are very good though not over the top and the dish of vegetable with most main courses is the best. Hope they continue with this as vegetables are... More

Home for a week from Scotland, had booked a table for 14 to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary (which turned out to be 15), we had a fabulous evening. The food was great, the service was fantastic! Thanks to Paul and the girls who run the restaurant so well and make all customers feel comfortable and at ease. We ate... More

We didn't get as far as a drink or the food, so I can't comment on that. We were celebrating my 17 year old son passing out from HMS Raleigh. We were shown to our table having told the server we were having a meal. She took our drinks order which included beer for my son, and that's where the... More

First visit to this off the beaten track village pub. A very nice village too! Very clean looking throughout the Inn. Friendly welcome and good service throughout the meal. Other than a party of 5 at another table, who surprisingly I knew, we were the only other diners. The menu was fairly extensive and should satisfy most tastes. I probably... More

We live reasonably close and it is always worth the journey. If there was a competition for the best combination of food and service Paul and his team would undoubtedly get my vote. A few of the reviews that I have read indicate a severe lack of understanding of consistently good English cooking and excellent meat, fish and vegetables. The wine... More

We went there for a spontaneous dinner and were positively surprised. The food was lovely, nice atmosphere and good service. We were going to have coffees after our deserts but after 10 minutes of waiting we just settled the bill. That was the only time we got overlooked. Overall it's a good find not too far form Plymouth.

Visited on a Sunday for a friend's birthday. This was our first trip here. beautifully decorated and cosy dining area. Our party of 9 was easily accommodated at a large square table. The menu was varied with a wide range of additional specials available on the chalk board. Starters were a great size and beautifully cooked. Portion sizes were generous... More
