Excellent Food - Great Atmosphere

We had the pleasure of dining here once again recently. A very warm welcome awaited us. The restaurant is well designed and there are lovely cosy separate dining sections. It is most pleasant. The food was delicious. The staff attentive and professional. Thoroughly recommended.

We spent the week after Christmas down in Devon with family to celebrate my mother in law's 80 birthday. New Year's Day isn't always the best time to eat out, however the Ship Inn didn't disappoint us. As expected the restaurant was busy with other families and despite a slightly slow service and Luke warm partridge, which was replaced without... More

Always very pleasant greeting and very hospitable pub. Restaurant is always full, however, if you want just a quiet pint and conversation there is the bar to sit and chat. Meals are excellent value and plenty on the plate, for those that like to eat big portions.

Four of us visited on a Friday evening in November. The Ship Inn really is the place for all diners. There was a casual dining menu and a more a la carte type menu, backed up with many special dishes of the day and a fish menu! We could have eaten from any of the menus whilst sitting in a... More

When a local person recommends a restaurant, it is always worth a try and this restaurant has set itself a high standard. Ok as a result it is busy, but the menu was inviting and food was presented well and served well. As good as any restaurant in the London area I would say.

Had a family lunch here, the food was really nice and the service was excellent. Free water on the table is a great idea and they have a good choice of meals. The desserts in particular was really good and a great choice

We enjoyed a really good evening meal as a family. The fish and chips were spot on. The Partridge meaty and tasty. All well presented and piping hot. The atmosphere in the dining area is pleasing. The waiting staff were exceptional. The coffee was excellent and we really liked the way it was served, just that extra little touch made... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The staff were very friendly, let us choose our own table and promptly brought our drinks. The menu was lovely, we chose haddock and chips and the pie and vegetables. Both were delicious - extreme!y generous portions. Sadly no room for sweet. Highly recommend you try this place.
