Lovely food, and hot hot hot!!

Quick evening visit for a curry feed so nipped into the Ganges and Gurkha for something hot! Relatively quiet inside being a weds night, with the service being pretty attentive and from a really sweet lady who took her time to explain what was what for us. Tried an old faithful (Madras) with an... read more

We, a family of 4 adults & 5 children, recently visited this restaurant. The spacious interior belies it's outward appearance, with well laid out tables and a number of side alcoves each able to seat about 10 patrons, allowing for a private party atmosphere. We were met and guided to our table with drinks orders being taken as soon as... More

I've ordered a few take aways from here and they've been excellent, but thought I'd try a sit in meal there. There service was incredibly slow, we had to wait near on an hour before the food arrived, I was going to leave. Other than the wait the food was good!

Four of us dined at the Ganges late on Tuesday night (14/4/15) after the Plymouth v Wimbledon game, we were recommended here by the barmaid of the nearby Minerva pub. Despite being the only diners at 11pm-ish, we still received a warm welcome. Food was all decent, well cooked and came in good time. A pint each, poppadums, mains with... More

My friends and I dined here a few weeks ago to celebrate, and we weren't disappointed. Enjoyed the fact it was 'Bring Your Own Wine' (£2 per bottle charge), and all our dishes were lovely.

I have been eating at The Ganges for many years and have really enjoyed the value and atmosphere. In the past the restaurant catered for eating on a small budget and it was the cheapest Indian in Plymouth. Over the past year or so there has been a radical change in focus and variety of cuisine. No only has the... More
