Description: The Admiral MacBride is a traditional English Pub with a friendly and relaxing atmosphere located on Plymouth's historic Barbican seafront. The Admiral MacBride is built upon the original Mayflower Steps from where the pilgrim fathers set sail for America. We provide an extensive food menu in using, wherever possible, locally grown vegetables and fresh fish and shellfish landed right here on the Barbican. We also offer a wide selection of lager, real ales, cider & wine for your enjoyment.

This pub, serves food, although we didn't eat there. The ambiance was a bit flat and while we were there a group can in, looked around and walked back out! However, it was clean and had some interesting features. It could be made so much more though. The décor was mixed - get rid of the John Lennon posters and... More

Nice room for our two night stay with all the things you'd expect for that type of break, although I missed not being able to have breakfast in the pub. However to counter that we ate breakfast in Tudor Rose Tea Rooms and The Glassblowing House nearby, which were both really good. Only downside was the parking! We didn't need... More

Popped in here for a couple of drinks after diner on the Barbican. Fair enough it was early evening on a Saturday so the revellers were out but we were greated by the barmen bent down behind the bar offering an inuendo towards his co-worker! Whilst i'm not a prude it wasn't quite the greeting I was expecting. The pub... More

Visited here recently. Beautiful area right on the seafront. Modern inside. Friendly staff. Dog friendly - dog even got a bowl of water which was a nice touch. The all day breakfast was perfect and drinks reasonably priced. Would defo return if in the area.

A pub with a reputation for being quiet and lowkey seems to have sealed and become more fun. Recently we have dropped in after walks around the sea front. More suitable for older folk like my mother than say the Dolphin. But the AMcB with its carpet and warmer fresher decor also seems to be attracting youngsters. Generally more relaxed... More

Stayed in one of the upstairs rooms very reasonably priced compared to hotels just up the road. Friendly manageress and amazing view out of the window. Clearly been recently refurbished, my only fault would be no TV in my room! I like the background noise although the window view was more than enough

A great pub with an excellent atmosphere, good music and fantastic crab sandwiches. Friendly and helpful staff. It's rare to find good all round pubs like this nowadays. Definitely worth a visit when your on the barbican.
