Best Cream Tea Ever!

Friendly, speedy service, delicious home made scones and good portions of cream and jam. Pot of really tasty tea - would have loved more! Would definitely go back.

Had a surprise birthday do here and what a fantastic afternoon we all had. The food was beautiful and the cream teas were out of this world. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were all very lovely too. The garden was lovely and very tranquil and the sun even came out. can thoroughly recommend.

If visiting the Barbican, this is a tea room not to be missed. I've been quite a few times and have enjoyed the full English breakfast and had the cream tea several times, the scones are to die for, absolutely delicious. The tea room is very quaint and the staff are very friendly and attentive. When the weather is good... More

Great place for tea and something light to eat. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Went there couple of times during my stay in Plymouth, it was always a pleasant experience.

Dreadful food that was far less than basic- flavourless, unimaginatively put together and often not fully cooked!! I suspect this 'tea room' attracts tourists who are wanting an experience of British cuisine? Well this establishment is an embarrassment to say the least- poorly presented from the outside and outset and its food and interior live up to this low standard... More

I cannot believe the tea in the tea port was a tea bag instead of loose leaves as one would expect. The Victoria sponge was dry. Would have been better if food could be served on bone china since old setting?! Terrible for 5.45 tea for one and a sponge cake.

What a lovely place to relax and have a cream tea. Service was excellent. The scones were lovely and warm served with lashings of clotted cream and jam. Absolutely delicious, would highly recommend it.

This is the place to go if you are looking for an authentic tea room! I always make sure to pay them a visit when i am in Plymouth. They have amazing freshly baked cakes & scones with their own clotted cream, a great tea selection (teapigs & devonshire black tea) and their savory sandwiches/light options are also pretty good... We enjoyed our cream tea whilst sitting in the garden of the Tudor Rose garden such a tranquil place in the sun and out of the wind. We will always visit this tea room on our trip to the barbican.

Found this little gem in the back streets of the barbican over the Easter bank holiday. Friendly greeting on arrival, it's was a beautiful day so we decided to sit in the garden. Waitress was prompt and friendly , prices very reasonable we had a afternoon cream tea which was lovely with fresh homemade scones ! The surrounding are beautiful... More
