Reasonable food and convenient eating for the barbican

Usual barbican dining on a min road but within walking distance of the court, town centre and the Hoe. Good wines and reasonable food but service can be slow although the staff were friendly. The menu is limited and basic but still reasonable value. Parking can be awkward in the busy evenings and... read more

This first floor dining room seems to be reincarnating itself every few months. It's now a new venture with what we think is a light spicy theme from many nations. We ate here once when it had a sort of false start and have recently had trouble getting through on the phone and the website unhelpfully gives no detail of... More

There is a current Tripadvisor listing for the restaurant now trading on the first floor which is called Kurri Kurri. We have been twice and quite like it. The old Notte Inn downstairs seems to have had several different owners of management over the last year or so and seems to open unpredictably. There was talk of it selling pies... More

It's a long time since Morgan ran Chambers restaurant upstairs here. Several businesses have come and gone since. The first floor now operates as the refreshingly new Kurri Kurri which has it's own Tripadvisor listing. I have been once and it was good and fun but am going back in the New Year with mates and will review it then.

This will come across a bit harsh but I'm doing it for the benefit of the business. I came here with my girlfriend at lunchtime and I felt alienated when I got inside. It's an Old English Pub pretending to be an American Diner and it just doesn't work. The vinyls arranged on the wall, the cheap Marilyn Monroe art.... More

Had a quick snack here at the weekend. Sort of Yankee style but nothing great. Name seems to change every couple of weeks. New sign up a few day ago.

Covering 3 floors, Barbican Burger Bar offers something for everyone. Whether you want to come and eat in the American Diner, or grab a bite whilst enjoying a few drinks at the bar, the Burger Bar is a great place to meet. Family friendly restaurant offering a large children's menu and even offering a function room for parties both for... More

The pub/bar has been replaced by a livelyish business called the Barbican Burger Bar that does some very competitively priced burger variations and deals.
