we went on a Saturday lunch it was really cheap and we had a turkish meze. The food was fresh, delicous and felt like we were in turkey! Service was great and the place was very romantic !must see if you come to plymouth as its bang opposite the elizabethan gardens!

Found this restaurant very accommodating with excellent service for a party of 12. Portions were large so excellent value for hungry students. The food was tasty and as expected. The atmosphere was perfect for the occasion which was our son's 21 st.

I visited Shirley valentines after reading the reviews from trip advisor. This was another success in the trip advisor recommendations. My lovely wife and I visited last night Thursday 02 may. We ordered the dip and bread followed by halloumi starters and finished with sea bass and the mixed grill. The food was beautifully presented and the tastes was exceptional.... More

I first went to this restaurant with my husband, Mum and her partner. We have all experienced plenty of Greek/Turkish/Med food on travels previously, so we wasn't sure how this place would compare given that fact. I have to say, not one of us had a bad meal, we were all in awe of how well the food smelled, tasted... More

I can only say that my food experience was terrible. The waitress was lovely and friendly, and the ambiance was great, It should and could have been different. I received my lamb on a metal skewer, on a bed of rice. It takes a lot for me to complain and I usually let stuff go, but not this. My first... More

Went to this hidden little place with my daughter and had a fantastic evening. Firstly the welcome was incredibly warm, taken to our table and our drinks order was taken. When were ready our waitress talked us through the menu. During our meze style meal a belly dancer entertained the restaurant. Food was delicious. My tip is definately book in... More

Attended on spur of the moment and were say downstairs in a room laid out for two tables, so can't comment on the atmosphere upstairs but was very unexpected with wood panelling but was incredibly dark and a little cramped. Served a large mix of starters / dips which were ok , but clearly did not come with enough bread... More

Didn't really feel comfortable with any of it. Very busy on our evening. Strange cacophony of decoration and styles. Not impressed by the food. None of it taken at face value tasted either hearty or interesting. I have eaten a good deal of Greek food having had a job in Athens for four months a decade ago. As to the... More

This restaurant has become my favourite part of Plymouth. Not only is the food great, but the friendly staff and the quaint environment make it the full package. I visited Shirley's 4 times in 4 months and wasn't disappointed once! I look forward to my next visit.
