This nice pub has closed for the moment and has been on the market for several months. Very sad. It was never very busy but the landlord was always welcoming, and although there was little atmosphere, the pub was always clean and warm. Food was served there and there was a bbq and smoking area outside. Hope someone re-opens it... More

Lovely friendly couple (Dave & shell) provide a very relaxed local pub, good food at very reasonable prices, good live music, this is just what the area needs, pop in and enjoy some good home cooked food a few pints and a chat, and you won't be disappointed.

Don't bother going for the food as the Stopford has changed hands and is now just an average boozer.

We live close to the Stopford and have seen it go up and down in recent years. It's now a really nice 'local' with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere - and child friendly (until 8pm due to licensing). Definitely worth a visit....

OK so it's not michelin starred food, but having eaten in most restaurants in Plymouth over the years, I haven't found better value than this - it might not have quite the style of some other restaurants, but you can't fault the food at the price they charge. The menu changes frequently, is always imaginative, the quality is consistent, and... More

Not sure whether the last contributor has confused the Stopford Arms with the Lounge pub just 200m back the road? The Stopford Arms is a passable attempt to resurrect an ordinary late Victorian inner suburban pub into a place to eat as well. Its a reasonable effort for a pub but you wouldn't go out to eat there unless it... More

We live locally to the Stopford, and since itre-opened 5 months ago, we eat there pretty much once a week- at least! Fantastic food from John the twin rosetted chef...u gotta try the chicken & chorizo lasagne next time its on the menu. It has a great atmosphere, and the decor is very modern and comfortable. The price of food... More
