Mediocre food. Unbelievably expensive. Brash horrible OTT decor which does nothing to enhance the experience.

We went to the Eastern Eye on Friday evening, 19th Sept without a booking. Not a problem. We were warmly greeted and were afforded all of the niceties that one would expect from a top class Indian restaurant. The maitre d, also head chef, introduced himself and explained the meals that we had ordered. The food came out hot and... More

We arrived around midnight without a booking and they were still open and very welcoming to us for a sit down meal. I'm not usually a fan of hot / spicy or marinated food so having an Indian would not be my first choice but I really enjoyed my food. The waiter was extremely informative and made a suggestion for... It's not my kind of Curry shed. Too fancy, psychedelic and expensive but it is certainly different, tries hard and some people like it a lot. If I was very hungry and probably after my fourth pint I would enjoy it as much as anyone else.

This restaurant is our absolute favourite and we have been dining here for years. The food is amazing, the service is fantastic and I cannot fault the Eastern Eye whatsoever. The restaurant itself has a wonderful feel too, me and my partner go there whenever we can and we relish the whole experience. The takeaways are also just as good... More

I am on a quest. My quest is to cook a curry that matches the flavour of any of the dishes I've enjoyed at the Eastern Eye over the years. I have a feeling I'll struggle. The restaurant is my favourite of its type in Plymouth, despite a higher cost than many of their competitors. A lot comes down to... More
