A delightful local pub popular with locals and visitors. Not laid out as an "eating place" but still a country pub offering good ale and quality food.
I recently visited the Cottage Inn again, Clare and Paul have done a fantastic job renovating this lovely old building. The atmosphere in the bar is warm and welcoming, the staff are friendly and efficient and the food is to die for, and the prices are very reasonable. I hope to be back in the area again soon, and will... More
Seriously this place is amazing! We eat here twice in the three nights we stayed in Lynton. The staff are so accommodating and couldn't do more for us. The food is home made and was some of the best I've had in a long time, you'd be mad to miss out on eating here.
This is the closest eatery to the Pine Lodge B&B where we stayed so an obvious choice. There was a warm welcome with good food at sensible prices. There are appetizers for £1.50 & smaller portions of all mains for £5 which was plenty for us. Just a shame it was closed on Monday when we wanted to return.
We ate here twice during our stay in Lynton. The place has been taken over by a family who have an excellent varied menu. Lovely welcome, good and homely food with daily specials board.
Having moved to the area recently we like to check out the local pubs restaurants etc and had an excellent mid week meal. An excellent pub/restaurant with a variety of dishes and very friendly staff. Location overlooking the river is excellent and is a short scenic walk from central Lynton
This hidden treasure is by far the best pub to visit if you want friendly service, great local ales and tasty, well priced food. They always have a great selection of fresh specials on, including fish caught that day by the landlord, and a varied, fairly priced menu. The staff are attentive and knowledgable and you can tell that the... More
We attended a beer festival and Hog roast here. It is quite secluded and therefore was mostly attended by locals. Had a warm welcome with reasonably priced drinks. Did not try the pub food but sampled the hog roast which was tasty. Hope to return when we are next in the area.
The staff are really welcoming and there is a fair choice of food on offer, which is all very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. We had a candlelit table by the window next to the river which was lovely. Staff are attentive, but not over the top.
There was a warm welcome from the staff - always a good start. We looked at the menu at lunchtime, and booked a riverside table for the evening (the riverside tables are well worth it). The menu is not extensive - have a look at their website - but the quality and service were very good.
