Happily found by chance.

While the number of eateries up in Lynton isn't vast there are a few to choose from and it was simply by chance that my wife and I ended up at The Crown. The decision being based on 'this looks okay' and that they offered some simple pub food which was what we were in the mood for that evening.... read more

I'd read some of the negative reviews here and was nervous about eating at The Crown Hotel, but as soon as we walked in there I started to change my mind. Beyond the bar is a neat and comfortable restaurant. The staff were pleasant, the locals were having fun, and when it came to food... ordered burgers, which came with... More

Cosy environment, great pub food, and nice ales. I was impressed that they had several vegetarian options on the menu. I got the curry, which was tasty but a wee bit spicy. The fish and chips were fantastic. Very relaxed place, a number of locals stopping in with their dogs. Definitely a good stop in Lynton after a day walking!

Dog friendly, as is most of the area. Basic pub grub at affordable prices. Limited menu, but one that worked. The butterfly prawns particularly good. We ordered fish and chips, which was average, but ok. The burger looked very good however, so would go for that next time. Very friendly staff.

I enjoyed my cottage pie here with a portion of vegetables that were tasty. Recommended! Nice beer too.

Great value meals and generous portions. I had the fish and chips which was tasty and of good quality. Friendly staff and walls are decorated with interesting and well placed murals.

We had lunch here as a group of 11. The food was lovely with good sized portions. No one went hungry.

We'd popped in for a meal the evening before and were so impressed with quality and price that we decided to make a return visit, with the same satisfied outcome. And they do a lovely pint of Guinness too. Then, as we were thinking of going, we noticed microphones and a p.a. being set up. We then discovered that it... More
