The pub is a bit dated but dont judge the book by its cover, the food was good and ample and the visitorsvisiting were on for a chat, worth trying

Had an excellent pint but had already booked into a local restaurant so didn't manage to eat here. The food coming out looked excellent though. Some people's reviews below complain about portions being too large. Get a grip folks. Much better to have too much than too little. Give me hearty portioned pub grub over tiny nouvelle portions any day!

We ate at The Crown twice during our weeks holiday in Lynton. All meals were nice and tasty and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly, however the man greeting guests to the hotel could have been more smartly dressed! The pub is basic and quite dark inside.

Nearest to where we were staying without having to use the car but wished we had gone further afield. Adequate but not inspiring and would advise people to look further into town.

We went to the crown hotel for an evening meal. The meals were served in the bar of the hotel, which was more like a basic pub with bare wooden floorboards and a somewhat scruffy decor However, having said all that, the food was excellent, and very good value, And the staff were very courteous.and helpful. We w2ould certaimly make a... More

This is a hotel/pub situated 200 yards from the main street in Lynton. What it lacks in decor and surroundings it makes up for in the pub style meals. The staff were friendly and the barman was most amusing. The meals are fish and chips, cottage pie type meals which are tasty, good value for money and quite good portions.... More

Despite first impressions of a 'spit and sawdust' pub we both enjoyed a well cooked, presented and well portioned evening meal on 27th July. The cottage pie was tasty and well seasoned and the cod and chips excellent. Staff were friendly and the beer good. Would recommend you try for good pub food and ale.
