Nearest to where we were staying without having to use the car but wished we had gone further afield. Adequate but not inspiring and would advise people to look further into town.

Visited recently whilst on holiday in Lynton/Lynmouth. Reasonably priced and good choice of pub food. Good portion size and service very good. Well worth a visit if in the area.

We went to the crown hotel for an evening meal. The meals were served in the bar of the hotel, which was more like a basic pub with bare wooden floorboards and a somewhat scruffy decor However, having said all that, the food was excellent, and very good value, And the staff were very courteous.and helpful. This is a hotel/pub situated 200 yards from the main street in Lynton. What it lacks in decor and surroundings it makes up for in the pub style meals. The staff were friendly and the barman was most amusing. The meals are fish and chips, cottage pie type meals which are tasty, good value for money and quite good portions.... More

Despite first impressions of a 'spit and sawdust' pub we both enjoyed a well cooked, presented and well portioned evening meal on 27th July. The cottage pie was tasty and well seasoned and the cod and chips excellent. Staff were friendly and the beer good. Would recommend you try for good pub food and ale.

Did not expect the food to be as good. Had whitebait for starter and broccoli and stilton soup for main that were both delicious. Good portion size and inexpensive. Pub a bit tired looking but very friendly barman and good service.

A friendly local spot with a good menu of pub food, well prepared. The delight is in the presentation, though: fish 'n chips dressed to resemble a cod, burger beneath a tower of onion rings. Reasonably priced; good selection of local ciders and ales.

We ate two burgers in June at the Crown: portions were really generous and food tasted good. There were nice real ales available on tap.
