Absolutely brilliant. Had very clear meat, fish and vegetarian parts on the menu so easily guided to your preferred choice. Really enjoyed the menu that was on offer and the chosen dish was great. My partner and I enjoyed the dishes and although quiet in the restaurant, the ambience was lovely. The recommended restaurant wine was one of the cheapest... More

Having a drive on a day off along the coast and decided to stop in Lynton for lunch looking for something tasty. Came across here and we would definitely come back. I had the falafel in a flat bread and my wife the lamb koftas in granary. Both were amazing. Will definitely be calling in again if we are passing.

Gluten-free, vegetarian, good meats, great puddings are all available at the Vanilla Pod. Every dish was interesting with nothing coming across as boring. Thus instead of fish on a bed of mash here we had chick-peas. For myself on both visits I had soup worth travelling for. Though on the second occasion I succumbed to some home-made GF bread on... Had brunch and dinner at The Vanilla Pod on the same day (it was a wet day and we didn't want to travel far). Hubby had the full breakfast (nicely presented), and I had the eggs with chorizo (divine!) with lovely granary bread. We were happy with our brunch that we went back for dinner! Hubby had the lamb which... More

Had breakfast and dinner here during a long out-of-season weekend in Lynton. My wife is not only a vegetarian, she can't eat gluten either and both breakfast and dinner were tailored to her needs and very good. We'd certainly eat here again when next in the area.

It's very hard to get away from standard pub menus in this part of the world, so it's great to find a restaurant offering an alternative. We ate there twice in our week staying in Lynmouth and both meals were exceedingly good. The Vanilla Pod offers a Mediterranean twist to it's menu and has some really different meals on offer.... Four of us on a grey out of season day chanced upon this little cafe/restaurant at lunchtime and didn't want to leave again after our meal! The menu had everything you could have expected of a cafe but somehow all with an added extra to almost everything(eg the choice of cheeses with the Ploughtmans), as well as choices that were... It lived up to the recommendation of our b & B hosts. Interesting food with a very definite flavour of the Eastern Mediterranean. The service was good, the setting pleasant, a real highlight of our holiday.
