Friendly staff, food average

The interior was simple and didn't have the ambiente you would hope to find judging by the outside appearence of the house that fits nicely into the charming village. But it was comfortable after a long strenuous walk. The food was average but the staff was very friendly.

Came here for lunch on a hit Saturday, however we didn't stay as there was 1 person serving drinks and the queue was out the door and 1 serving food and were told the wait was 1 and half hours!!!! Also at 12 on a Saturday they had run out of thatchers on tap, and apparently other drinks too. We... More

This restaurant has been refurbished and looks absolutely wonderful, unfortunately the food is terrible as is the attitude of the evening waiter, too young for Basil Fawlty you'd think, but at least Basil was amusing. This relatively young man thinks he is amusing but he is arrogant and insulting, the best way for this restaurant to lose money and custom... More

Chatty service in a good location but the food was expensive and very disappointing (my impression was it all came out of the freezer and into the microwave).

We'd met my parents for lunch in lynmouth and not having been to the town before we had a brief look around and headed for the cute looking restaurant in the centre of the town. In retrospect it was a mistake and we should've gone in the village inn. The sandwiches were ok, the soup cold and the jacket spuds... More

October half term and most of Lynton and Lynmouth had virtually closed up after the summer season. Found this restaurant as they did "grill" food which we really enjoy. Ate there both nights, coming down from Lynton to do so. Service (James & Sam) was great - menu was exactly what we wanted and not as pricey as other places... More

Just popped in for a takeaway tea before a walk on the seafront and wanted to say thank you to the young lady from Kent for being so friendly.

We visited here for lunch on the 16th September. They are dog friendly in the garden which is a bonus because there seem to be a lot of doggy people who visit this area, they have dog water bowls all over the garden area. That is the plus part. On the downside the staff do seem to be a little... More

We decided to have dinner The Harbourside Restaurant. We did not book in advance, but when we arrived at 7pm we were told by one of the barmen that our order could not be taken until 7-15, even though there were only another two tables occupied, and in the meantime we could study the menu and have a drink. No... More
