Only called in for a drink one evening - the restaurant seemed chokker block with happy people and the food going out looked good. Very charming bar staff and good drinks offer - would certainly visit again

Not many better places to be on a sunny day than sat in the garden of the Rock House Hotel surrounded by the beautiful village of a Lynmouth with a pint of Tribute in hand, or Cream tea, cake, sandwich or scampi and chips. Tried all of these (although not all at the same time) and all very decent standard... More

We visited on a Sunday and were enticed by the location, the fact they do cash back and the fact that dogs are allowed in the garden. What a mistake! As others have pointed out, service was painfully slow, lacklustre and disinterested at the bar and seems incredibly disorganised. Even the staff seem embarrassed and wander around looking lost. One... More

We arrived in Lynmouth just as it started to rain. After a quick walk through the town we decided to head across the bridge for some lunch. This place looked inviting. We had a large pushchair. One baby and one 4 year old. Two elderly, less mobile, in-laws. Plus myself and my wife. The staff were really welcoming and helpful.... More

Asked for 3 cream teas and one gluten free if possible. Not possible but had ice cream instead. Two of the smallest scoops of ice cream I've ever seen. Service was smile free, and I had to go back to the desk 3 times for 1. Milk for the tea 2. Knives to spread cream and jam 3. Serviettes. There... More

Stopped here for lunch and enjoyed it. We ate in the garden and both lunches were good value. Lovely views of charming town. A good place to have lunch

An amazing location, sitting in the garden looking over the sea, it is a pity the rest of the experience did not manage to wow us. It was very quite and on ordering in the bar I had not got a table number; my wife had not decided where to sit and was unavailable. If it was busy I would... More

The Rock House has a lovely garden, and since the weather was wonderful during our stay, we spent a little time here, for tea and scones. There's a meal menu, but we haven't tried that. We enjoyed the position, (lovely views) and the atmosphere. There was a singer/guitar player busking whilst we were there, and it made for a very... More

We stopped to have some drinks and light bites and were very impressed by the kindness of the bar and kitchen staff who went out of their way to make us all feel welcome, especially to my fiancee's mum. The portions of chips were very generous and we would thorougly recommend this place to others and visit again. Recommended.

Visited here recently and was extremely impressed. Had a drink in the beer garden first which has amazing views over the beach. We then ate in the restaurant in the evening. Very nicely decorated and a good selection on ales, which my boyfriend was very happy with. the service was very good. the waiter was by himself but still very... More
