We visited this restraunt on a Sunday lunchtime and although the carvery looked very good we preferred to order from the specials board. We also ordered mussels in white wine and blue cheese sauce to start. Unfortunately when the mussels came they were very poor. A large portion in fairness, but in a bowl that was too small. The mussels... More

Took my partner and two relatives for a thursday lunch hoping for a nice carvery firstly could not believe the price was £10.95 for a weekday lunch, pretty much twice thd price of say The Nutwell, upon removing the foil from the vegetables they clearly had been there quite some time (days probably), the meats also were dry and shrivelled,... Arrived without booking and found a table straight away.Choice of 4 meats, all beautifully tender, and plenty of fresh hot vegetables. Had a large glass of house red to wash it down, and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was too. If you can fit it in, deserts are awesome. Since being taken over by Palmers Brewery, the Swans... Having arrived there on Sunday evening at 7-35 my wife ordered the carverey and I wanted a meal from the board As my wife went to collect her meal an employee came over and said that the kitchen was closed and that the carverey was shutting down in a few minutes , This left me no option but to have... Haven't been here for nearly 2 years now so had a meal with my eldest son & my mum - good sunday carvery as ever - Swans one of the few places to have 4-5 meats on so plenty of variety for red & white meat eaters. A wide selection of deserts too which are generally very good - minor... More

Probably the most expensive carvery around, but it is well worth it. You get what you pay for (usually in life).....Lovely setting, way out in the sticks, on the fringe of Exminster, and great for bird watching locally. The carvery is suberb, with a stunning choce of meat and veg. Spacious pub, plenty of room to spread out.....can get very... More

Arrived just as the carvery opened do everything was fresh and hot. Good choice of meats and vegetables. As others have said the decor is a little tired and old fashioned but not a major issue if you know what to expect.

Visited today celebrating a birthday with a large group of family and friends. Great large space in the back for large groups. Having read previous reviews I was very apprehensive about the carvery. The carvery was well presented in a large open space and the staff coped well with our large group. However the food was a disappointment, the beef... More
