Drop in lunch

Very good indeed. Just dropped in after shopping to get a delightful lunch and considerate service. Arriving towards the end of lunch service, it was a pleasant surprise to be received so well.

I have eaten here before and had excellent food. I visited on a Saturday, on my own and asked for a table for one. There was no hostess but the waitress I spoke to said I could sit where I Iiked. I took a table in the sun by the window. After a couple of minutes I was approached by... More

Dropped in on the off chance on the way back from a brief visit to Exmouth. Efficient friendly service, good choice of real ale, plenty of variety on the fairly priced menu. Very comfortable and welcoming environment, advertises itself as dog friendly and the well behaved Labrador in the bar had a well earned dog treat from the landlady. Would... More

Having visited the Puffing Billy before and really enjoyed our meal we had high hopes for the evening. The setting was very nice but unfortunately we were disappointed with our meal. The starters were bland and cold and my partners steak main was terrible. The steak was cold and seemed to be a poor cut of meat and the side... More

Our first visit for a year or two. They managed to squeeze us inas we booked late. Service immaculate and friendly and the food was really good, excellent value.

Four of us enjoyed the set lunch at £16.95 per head for three courses here. What amazing food for the price with a very good choice; great atmosphere, pleasant attentive staff and just along from the walking/cycle trail along the Exe estuary. A brilliant package, we will return.

Have visited on a couple of occasions now, the staff are always very welcoming and more than happy to cater for specific needs. The food is excellently priced and to a high standard. Would definitely recommend stopping, there is a lovely little walk down the estuary only a a short walk away.

This was a casual Saturday lunch with friends over the Christmas holiday. Good varied menu which along with the specials board offers something to please all tastes. Our food arrived promptly and was prepared to a very acceptable standard. Only let down was that staff seemed a little weary and distracted, perhaps after a busy Christmas or perhaps preparing for... I have seen this pub transformed over the years from a nice ordinary pub with good food to a rather up market pub with wonderful flowers outside in the summer. However it is more I feel for the young patron with deep pockets than myself and OAP

Stopped along the cycle track for a quick drink and snack. Was very busy but asked to reserve a table and only had to wait about 10 mins. Chips were lovely, nice park for the kids and dogs welcome. Staff friendly.
