Description: The ASK Italian restaurant group boasts an excellent Exeter venue...
The ASK Italian restaurant group boasts an excellent Exeter venue, situated in a stunning period building on the green next to Exeter Cathedral. The ASK Italian restaurant has recently gone through an extensive refurbishment. We've created a restaurant with a distinctive new look inspired by modern Italian design. And with the help of our expert friends, including awarding-winning chef Theo Randall, we've created a menu that features a range of simple, classic Italian food and an all Italian wine list.

Like the Ask chain and has generally been the one of choice for a reasonable lunch of jug of Pimms in the summer. First time eating in the evening. Great stuff Location - In Cathedral area of Exeter King Prawns in garlic butter were amazing in flavour and I had this starter portion as a main with a rocket salad.... More

Having visited the Yeovil Ask Italian before I wasn't overay blown away by the food! However having just recentely had food in the Exeter one I would definitely return! We sat out in the terrace while the sun was shining and enjoyed a bottle of wine! This followed by starters & mains of which were both fantastic and we received... More

Great atmosphere and attentive service. We both had the new sourdough pizzas and we were not disappointed. Well worth a visit.

Having been let down on a booking at another Italian in Exeter (having told me they could accommodate 20, they then said they couldn't - a week before we were due to go). The only other Italian that could take us was ASK. I had personally been there before, but some few years ago, and hadn't been that impressed. I... More

MrsMG and I took two of our sons and one GF for a late-ish lunch... We had a 30% off mains voucher.. I had the Carbonara which was OK, perhaps a bit dry, the Kids had Pizzas which they devoured, The Chicken salad was a bit sparse but the Lasagne was OK... Great outdoor area at the back, ideal for... My boyfriend and I visited on Sunday at 2pm. The restaurant was still pretty busy. I felt that they were terribly understaffed. Although the man who served us was polite he was really stretched. I only saw 3 members of wait staff for the whole restaurant. ( there are 2 big rooms I believe) The actual restaurant is in a... More

Cut short our meal at Jamies Italian due to awful service. Came here for desert and coffee and got the professional and courteous service we would expect when paying for a family meal out. Delicious cake and great coffee but the service made it! Nice atmosphere too (unlike Jamies Italian).

We went for a late Sunday lunch. They forgot to bring one of the starter dishes. They never checked to see if everything was OK. Service was very slow. There were hardly any customers and yet the staff seemed to be on another planet. I had to find someone and ask her to clear the main dishes when we had... More

Chain restaurant and as impersonal as that implies. Starter was dull. Main was small. Pudding was lovely but no spoon. We had to ask for spoons ffs!! General sense of confusion among staff, decorative though they were. Trying to pay by card baffled them so I paid cash. Odd. Too expensive for what it was eg £4.25 for a TINY... More
