Group of 4, we had a great meal. Some interesting Nepalese dishes as well as classic Indian curries. Tasty food at a good price. Very friendly service, the waiter even rushed out of the restaurant after we had gone to hand back a wallet that we had left on the table!

What can I say, I didn't know what to expect from this fairly new restaurant in Exeter, but hey thought we'd give it a go. What a surprise, from walking in the door to leaving after the meal, the evening was fantastic, staff very attentive, food to die for and the ambiance just right, I mean we are eating in... More

Was so looking forward to going to Gurkha Kitchen. At last the prospect of decent Indian food in Exeter. Was I disappointed? Oh Yeah!! I have to wonder how this place has such a good reputation for food. Last night I had the momo, Nepalese dumplings, a little like wontons but with a massively stodgy case. The meat inside was... Now, I like a curry as much as the next man and have been fortunate to have tried many curries from many countries. I had checked this place out on T.A and thought Id give it a go. The place is bright and welcoming and the staff are eager to please, this gave a great first impression. The evening meandered... More

We thoroughly enjoyed the dishes that we chose, including some of the house specials. Three were listed as medium and were pleasantly spicy and full of flavour. The fourth, a jalfrezi, was listed as hot and it certainly was! Portions were generous and garlic nan was excellent. The staff were warm and friendly without being over-attentive and it was excellent... More

Thank you for a really wonderful meal. We ordered a starter of mushrooms and main of a wonderful veggie dish of lentils and tamarind. We also had beans and potatoes with rice. The food was delicious, full of flavour and great value. Definitely far superior to the average curry. The next time I visit Exeter I will definitely be back.... More

Small buffet style menu but the full a la carte was available if we wished. Made very welcome as we arrived before they opened as website stated from 5.30pm, we were invited in to have a drink whilst the food was prepared. Lovely food and excellent value, parking is an issue but we found spaces on the road opposite.

A good variety of indian and Nepalese dishes, went for mostly veggie options all of which were different and full of flavour. We had a few of the side dishes with bread and a starter which makes it an incredibly cheap takeaway at £3.15 a dish and the portions of these were still large.

Can't claim to be a curry connoisseur - or even spell connoisseur - but this place has great food, good portions, nice atmos and super-friendly staff. It's also reasonable value - certainly for Londoners like us. Therefore highly recommended.

The old Chadni, this has been the Gurkha Kitchen for a couple of years. We used to rate the Chadni but had stopped going for some reason. We thought we'd try the GK for a work team outing. It was a great success. The ambience here isn't fabulous but the food was great. As well as most Indian favourites the... More
