We were treated to a complimentary taster of their new soup which was delicious. We then had three courses each. The banthum egg was cooked and presented beautifully as was the hake. The partridge was beautifully tender. Although I was being picky and wanted the pork cooked a bit longer the waiter and chef were more than happy to accommodate.... More

I am trying to think of a better dining experience, and I am truly struggling. My wife and I always drove past this place on the way back home from Exeter, and it usually seems empty. After our evening meal last night I cannot understand why!?!! There was another party of four on our night, otherwise it was just my... More

Family and friends travelled from London and Dorset to share a dining experience with us at HH. As usual we were not disappointed and thoroughly enjoyed our meal cooked by the new chef James. However we were the only ones left in the restaurant by 9.00p.m., this does little to spread the word about how good this restaurant is, but... More

old fashioned exterior and interior but bit too brightly lit to give it much atmosphere, leisurely service giving plenty of time to choose (though the range of choice was quite limited). Portion size a little on the small side for starters. Venison nicely prepared with good combination of flavours, fish tasty but again slightly small portion. Overall a pleasant evening... More

We at last got to eat here after a cancelled booking two years ago. We pass by regularly and from the outside it does look rather unprepossessing. But once you enter the quality of welcome and service took over. It wasn't busy but the owner was attentive and happy to answer questions. The wines matched to the dinner menu were... More

After booking months ahead only to find there's only lunch menu available with only two main courses on and one is not available and pork chop with mash is offered instead....with being allergic to white fish the chop was my only choice...as a first impression was not impressed sadly we went and ate elsewhere

It is worth heading to Broadclyst to visit The HH. We have eaten there several times, and not been disappointed. The service is excellent, and the food very good. The lunch menu is exceptionally good value - with a good choice to suit most tastes. And most importantly, it changes dependent on what the chef thinks is good that day!... More

Love this place! Excellent food, spot on service and a real treat. The young lady waitress is a true testament to the restaurant. Knowledgable and courteous, she really is the cherry on top. Highly recommended!

We booked a table here after reading the Tripadvisor reviews for our son's graduation dinner last week. We booked a couple of months ago and were given a poor table and no choice to change - the service was so slow almost surly and it was very expensive for what we had. Such a disappointment on what should have been... More
