Reasonable entry cost. Good service at the bar. Never seen any trouble here. Wendy mother of Joss happy to chat. Varied groups throughout the year with disco music after.

We had a really nice evening at Mama Stones, but the edge was taken off when we were asked to pay an extra £3 per person to stay seated at our table, even though we were still going to be buying drinks and they had finished serving meals. We were seated quickly, it was quite quiet when we first went... More

A group of us went in mid February, for a leaving 'Do'. We arrived at 19.45, but our food order wasn't taken 'til 20.15, and the food didn't arrive until 21.00. Some people had theirs well before the rest of us, the food was Mexican style, but bland, and the small amount of meat in each dish was padded out... More

i used to go here when it was the hub. it wasn't the best place then, but there was live music of any genre and a slightly rocky dingy atmosphere. was a good place to hang out, have a drink, watch a band. taken over by mama stone, the place nowadays caters entirely for lovers of generic pop/funk, it's too... Mama Stone's is somewhere I would definitely return to for the live music but not for the food. I ordered chicken enchiladas which were a bit taseless, no sauce and no advertised refried beans which are no longer on the menu apparently. Our whole group were disappointed with their meals. The staff were lovely but have your meal elsewhere and... More

Came here for my mothers birthday and it was horrible. The chicken soup was boiled chicken water with dry meat, the nachos were stale and the fajitas were chewy and the tortillas were hard! Not worth the bill.

Hoped for normal menu, we were given the Xmas menu, over cooked veg, apart from that the service was great good wine with dinner, don't know about the music as we left early to hit the clubs ( about 9 pm) go there for the music.

First time at Mama stones and it will be my last, the venue itself is a bit rough around the edges, lighting wasn't working around and above our table (so we couldn't see what we were eating) with screws to lock the toilet doors and toilet seats hanging off, the main room looks like it could do with a good... There's some great music played at Mama Stone's of which I went to see Nitin Sawhney and Joss Stone play there on September 19th and rather than cram in as many people as they usually do it was nice to see and made the evening less sardine like. Although I paid £50 a ticket which is a lot of money... More
