With huge windows obscured by white blinds, tall exotic plants and Swedish-meets-French countryside painted furniture you almost feel it would be a shame to call in after sunset. But come in for dinner and you’ll find yourself in an intimate and romantic setting perfect for that relaxed dinner to help you forget about bills, work and worries. Sail away on a culinary cruise through Europe as the menu takes you from Britain via France and in to Italy and beyond with plenty of local ingredients to keep the flavours fresh and delicious.

Chose this from its reviews and they understated it. Charming little restaurant close to the Cathedral and town centre the ambiance is informal and the decor (worn chic) suits it. What looked like medieval wooden wall panels preserved behind glass in the part I ate in complimented it. Staff were attentive, good service and reasonable wines at reasonable prices. Bypassed... My partner and I decided to try this restaurant based on the reviews on TA. We were pleased with the food and the 'early bird' deal made for a great value-for-money experience. The decor and surroundings are unusual, yet pleasant. This restaurant has only just fallen short of a better rating due to a slight dip in the level of... More

Good food and good service. Good atmosphere ....Early evening cheaper menu choices available but the other choices are of good value and were delicious and well presented. A good memory of Exeter.

We recently had dinner at the Conservatory having enjoyed "light bites" at lunchtimes on various occasions. How wrong we were..service was poor, food was extremely disappointing and expensive for what we had. More Commercial frozen food than home cooked. One meal had to go back and when it arrived (15mins later when we had nearly finished) all they had done... More

What a find! Iv been eating around exeter for years and never came across here until I was walking down a back street to my car when shopping, and saw this Little gem! I booked a table for Saturday evening and wow was I speechless, staff extremely friendly, and food was outstanding I chose off the early bird menu and... More

I haven't been to The Conservatory for some time and so was thrilled to have it as my work Christmas 'DO' I would have preferred to have been on the upper floor where there are windows to the outside world but, to be fair, they had an enormous party up there and so our lower floor room was more than... What a great place this is...very quirky looking but oozes quality. Visited here in December with a group of friends and had read previous reviews and we were not disappointed. As a vegetarian I am used to the usual offering of risotto and of course the dreaded goats cheese tart....what a breath of fresh air. The beetroot stew was to... More

Food great, had the two course 'early bird' menu, both meat and vegetarian meals very impressive, although not a huge vegetarian choice across the whole menu. The table was, however, a little too close to the kitchen and till, so a little noisy and squashed in. Also a little cold, I am guessing the atmosphere during lunchtime would be better... More

We went to the Conservatory last night for our works Christmas Party and I can't praise it enough. In the end 11 of us went but only after I called and changed the booking numerous times and the staff were extremely helpful and happy to help even tho I changed the number of people and time of the booking. They... More

My wife and I really enjoy the quality of the food here and especially enjoy the early bird offer (orders placed before 6.45pm, Monday to Thursday). No matter what you order it's always perfectly cooked and really tasty. The only issue we had on the night was that it was a little cold so take a jumper. The wine list... More
