Great, unpretentious place out of town

Quo Vadis is situated in Heavitree - a suburb of Exeter abut 1 mile from the city centre. It is an unpretentious 'home cooking ' Italian ristorante with a fair choice of mains over and above pizza and pasta, although those are available too. Be warned, free parking can be difficult as the... read more

We visited for lunch midweek and had an excellent experience! The service, food and ambience, not to mention the very good house wine, were all fab. Authentic Italian in the heart of Exeter - it might not look much from the outside but I would seriously recommend it!

We visited Quo Vadis on the strength of other reviews as needed somewhere to eat in Heavitree following my daughters drama performance. Saturday night no booking, very warm welcome, found us a table for 3. superb food and service with a great atmosphere, will definitely be back,-need to try the calamari next time!

We visited QV on a very wet and windy night, rain pushing us through the front door into the welcoming arms of our hosts. Humorous old school Italians, with mother cooking and dad and son front of house. Great food, good house wine and a really welcoming family. We'll be back.

From the outside, Quo Vadis looks like an average restaurant, but when we ventured inside it was different, Friendly courteous and welcoming Italian staff who provided delicious Italian cuisine, the atmosphere was fantastic, and it wasnt too expensive..... Would definitely return for an authentic Italian evening, highly recommended

We live close to the restaurant and visit fairly regularly and are never disappointed. It offers super friendly service, beautiful homemade food (particularly the desserts) and a good wine selection. It was a busy Saturday night and there was a great atmosphere. My husband had whitebait, lasagne and the trio de dolce (a sample of homemade desserts) and I chose... More

This small but perfectly formed restaurant is, by far, the best and most authentic Italian restaurant in Exeter. Great pizza, lovely pasta, fresh ingredients, well thought out menu, good presentation, staff ar attentive but not too 'in your face' and the bill was a nice surprise. Well done Quo Vadis.... Pretty darn good all round. :-)

We arrived at this restaurant by chance as the restaurant we intended to go to was closed. This was fated! A lovely warm welcome and felt valued as soon as we walked through the door. A choice of table and friendly banter set us at ease and we were left to ponder the menu once the specials were explained to... More

I must admit I am a little bit biased as I'm lucky enough to live just down the road from this great restaurant, and able to go for great food on a regular basis. Mama and Papa run the place with the their two boys and their lovely daughter and the welcome is always friendly, even for first time visitors.... More
