Description: Trip Advisor Award of excellence for the past 4 years is testament to the...
Trip Advisor Award of excellence for the past 4 years is testament to the care and quality of this family run restaurant in the heart of Exeter. The Olive Tree restaurant is placed in The Queens Court Hotel, a beautiful Georgian town house situated on a leafy square in a city, which dates back to the medieval ages. The Olive Tree restaurant is multi-award winning and often referred as the jewel in the crown of the Queen's Court Hotel. Dine amongst the Venetian masks and enjoy the produce of the West Country. All the food is freshly prepared and cooked for you, drawing influences from Italy and the Mediterranean. The restaurant is only a few minutes' walk from the high street, main train stations and very conveniently placed for the University. It is also fortunate to have a public car park on its doorstep that is free overnight and very reasonably priced in the day.

The Unexpected

We went here because of the good reviews for the tasting menu for £30 per person. Then we found out that there were better prices thru Travelzoo for £99 per couple which included a room, the tasting menu and breakfast. It looked like everybody but us had this deal. And, to top it off there was a... read more

We really enjoyed the taster menu in this restaurant. I was worried after I looked at the menu that my partner would not like it, but I was wrong. Different courses included duck breast with red currant and big cous cous salad, scollops with black pudding, raspberry granita and pea soup. All dishes were beautifully presented and tasted great. After... More

We enjoyed an interesting taster menu in this beautifully furnished and well laid out restaurant with a good balance of courses which were well prepared and presented and tasted superb. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for professional gourmet food in very pleasant surroundings.

Our group of 13 totally enjoyed dinner. Good food. Reasonable prices for the excellent food dishes available. You can also order drinks at the bar to go with your meal.

We took our Son for a special 18th Birthday meal at the Olive Tree after a Friend had given us a recommendation about the place for its award winning style of fine dining. The restaurant is part of the Queens Court Hotel so accommodates guests & paying visitors alike to dine in their charming peaceful surroundings. We chose three of... More

I was here for a business dinner and the idea was to go to a posh place to make the guests feel welcomed. The waiters were a bit young and inexperienced, but also eager to do their job, so we had no problem at all on that side. The ambient is also nice and formal as you would expect. My... More

I first dined at the Olive Tree two years ago with my partner and loved it, the food and ambiance were lovely. However, we dined again a few weeks ago and it was such a shame to see how downhill the Olive Tree has gone. There was no ambiance and only one other table were dining. Several people (i'm not...
