Great place, always busy with a good atmosphere. Had the Big Alf's breakfast and enjoyed complimentary extra toast. Value for money, a must visit when in Dartmouth

We visited on a Friday lunch time with friends. Found a table at the back fortunately as know that it's very popular here. Even though we've visited Dartmouth for years have always bypassed Alf's as we've either been too late or it's too busy. Thought that the food and staff were brilliant, they even gave our friends dogs some sausages!... More

We had a great brekkie here. Tasty bacon & sausage sandwiches, the bread was delicious & big too! Great coffee too. Friendly staff. A buzzy place. Will be back when next in Dartmouth.

A really lovely place full of character with great staff and great food. Went for breakfast a few weeks ago, it was our second visit and we enjoyed it as much as the first time we went. Recommend a visit but note it closes at 2pm.

A very busy but lovely restaurant/cafe. Nice choice of food, which is good quality and generous portions. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Dog friendly. Would recommend

I'm not so sure why Alf's gets such good reviews. It is not bad at all; the ambience and design is pretty cool and the food is OK. But it could be much better! A limited menu (no eggs benedict or even poached eggs!), average Coffee, long waiting times when busy, pretty crowded, dirty trays and cutlery, breakfast missing toast,... More

Glad you think it’s not all bad, i.e. ambience and design and you thought it was cool, although some of your comments seem very contradictory to this. We have our original decor & reclaimed fittings from when we opened 20 years ago, with a few updates! This all adds to the great ambience you commented on. Sorry it was really... More

We have just spent a wonderful week in Dartmouth, out first visit. Before leaving to drive back to the Midlands we had breakfast at Cafe Alf Resc. Only wish we had found this earlier great food, great prices, great staff. We will definitely recommend to friends and family, and would not hesitate to go again. Mick & Maureen.

We visit Dartmouth at least once a year and always have at least one breakfast at Alf's. The atmosphere is always terrific, very cool and laid back, with super friendly staff (its clear they enjoy their work). Our most recent trip was Regatta week 2014. I visited with my husband and 2 teenage children. As always, Alf's was very busy.... More

If you are in Dartmouth or the surrounding area you simply HAVE to pay a visit to Alf's. This cute little cafe is open for breakfast/brunch/lunch until 2pm and my only complaint is that I wish they stayed open throughout the whole day. The food is of a high quality, tastes absolutely delicious and quite a lot of it is... More
