It was our first time at Cafe Alf Resco. We had heard of its popularity and decided to give it a go....and were not disappointed. The seating arrangements are a combination of outdoor and under cover. Staff supplied the children with books and pens to keep them occupied. There were also quite a few people there with dogs (I believe... More

I came back here after an interval of about 3 years and was delighted to find it unchanged, with the remembered high quality breakfasts cooked to order and the delightfully informal but effective customer service. I went at lunchtime with a cousin and we both treated ourselves to a second breakfast, my cousin pushing the decadence boat out by having... More

Have been here several times, and this one was quieter than normal, which was a nice surprise as Alf Resco's gets very busy and buzzy - which can be part of the charm, but it was nice to have that little bit more space. Food was great, as ever and toast arrived with the cooked breakfast (rather than some time... More

Alf Resco has the full package for a perfect breakfast. The venue is quirky and unique with inside and outdoor seating. A range of breakfast we had the Alf Fresco breakfast, 2 eggs, sausage and bacon, we swapped tomatoes for mushrooms, add unlimited toast. The food is locally sourced and you can tell, delicious. With attentive staff and good prices... More

A real treat for something relaxing and home produced. Fresh bread for the sandwiches was brilliant and the beef filling was rare and perfect. Just what was needed. My wife had the home made fish pate served on a wooden platter with massive salad, Cous cous was v tasty. Definite place to go but beware they close at 2.00 pm

Excellent cafe with a great atmosphere in a town well worth a visit. Only had coffee, but the food that was being served look good, and the menu was interesting. Not only happy to allow our dog in, but also treated her to a sausage. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Housed in an old motor garage & now panelled out with panelling from an old public school this is a quirky set up. Very busy for breakfast but a booking for 8 of us accepted. Normally individuals have to queue up at bar to put order in but big parties waited upon.Everything you can wish for breakfast & reasonably priced.... More

Nothing not to like here. Popped in for lunch as it has an attractive outside covered area, which is something many pubs and restaurants in Dartmouth don't benefit from. Yummy homemade pies, pastries, soups and cakes. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food, good prices and licensed. They even have rooms to let, which we would consider next time we... More

We visited Dartmouth and asked a local for a good place to eat for lunch. She recommended Alf Resco's and we are so pleased we followed her guidance. So quirky and bustling with character and such a great atmosphere. We had 2 platters to share but all the food that came out looked amazing. Good selection with reasonable prices. Wild... More

We stumbled across Alf Resco had thought it was just lovely - wildflowers in jam jars on the tables, salvage reclaim hiding the concrete walls and a sail over the space for a real inside/outside feel. Great menu with organic, vege and other options as well as some real treats. Perfect example of how squeezing a cafe in between two... More
