Breakfast institution

This appears to be a Dartmouth institution, there is always a queue in Regatta week, rightly so! I stopped for breakfast with a friend and despite a good crowd in there food was really tasty. I had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast and can highly recommend it! The coffee was... read more

You will not get a better breakfast in such a unique setting as Alf's in beautiful Dartmouth. Very relaxed atmosphere and everyone is so friendly. And don't forget that you can also stay at Alf's. Try the flat at the top of the building, it is totally self-contained with a magnificent view from the balcony and you enjoy breakfast downstairs.

Great breakfast cool vibe friendly helpful staff but I thought the sausages tasted of a farmyard !!! Only my opinion so will not have them again. Big portions too and the dog loved his sausage and mine!

After a friend raved about this place we decided to give it a try. The queuing for a table would have been OK if someone had bothered to acknowledge us, and all the people behind us, and give us an idea of how long the wait was. One waitress was very friendly, but she was alone in that. The woman... More

We visited for lunch on the suggestion of a friend but were left feeling a little 'meh' by it all. There was nothing wrong as such, food was OK, staff were perfectly friendly and efficient...it was just lacking in a bit of atmosphere. It was very busy and we were pleased with how quickly the food came out and the... More

Lovely traditional breakfast. Perfect for a rainy day in Dartmouth. Staff friendly and location perfect in the middle of town.

Great tasting breakfast and a good atmosphere. Although busy once the food is ordered the wait is not long and whilst waiting you can start on the lovely toast and sample the many choices of toppings that include; jams, marmalade, marmite and other interesting things to spread on toast. The fresh orange juice is amazing. They are dog friendly and... More

We've been here at least once a year for about 15 years, on our annual holiday to Devon, and it's always on our list to revisit. It's extremely popular with the yachting fraternity who frequent it for an up-market breakfast but in novel cellar-type surroundings. Basic tables - many communal- and uncomfortable chairs but worth it for the lovely, freshly... More
