Oldest pub in Dartmouth, great atmosphere, lovely staff, good beer and food. Locals and holidays makers are equally treated.

Lovely atmospheric pub with great range of fine ales.Friendly staff. Very popular though - small seating area and the first floor reasturant is small, you need to book. Access for disabled and young children to resturant is not good- spiral staircase to resturant and steep stairsup again to toilets above

We stopped here for an afternoon refreshment. A lovely quirky little pub with a great history. Didn't meet the ghost though!

Booked a table for four in the restaurant which is set out over two floors on the 1st & 2nd levels with a pub bar on the ground. The building is one of the originals in Dartmouth so you get a real old pub feel plus oak beams, tight stairs so anticipate a bit of a tight squeeze and ducking... More

Recently while on holiday we were recommended to visit the cherub by our b&b owners, we popped in for drinks and were delighted by the wonderful atmosphere this building has to offer with its old world charm and the friendly service from the barman who was very knowlegable in his ale choices and where they came from. We also chose... More

What on earth has happened to The Cherub ? We arrived at 9.00pm on a Friday night at the height of the summer season and the place was deserted. Not a single diner upstairs and only SIX people in the pub. This place used to be heaving every night with a friendly welcome and punters jockeying for tables the moment they... More

Very surprised at the negative reviews. When staying for a few days in Dartmouth we called at The Cherub for an evening meal. The food was excellent and the service friendly and good. This was a Saturday evening but in talking to the waitress we discovered that weekdays they did a special price two for £25 steaks including wine. On... More

The last time we were here was around 17 years ago, and we remembered it as being really cosy but with great food and ambience. This time we were a little disappointed. The service is great, and the food is good (but not wonderful), but it is the decor that lets it down. A few white tablecloths and fresh flowers... More

This interesting pub resides in the oldest building in Dartmouth and is noted for its quaint lines outside and in. I wanted to sample the real ales on offer, and I wasn't disappointed with "A Proper Job" and "Otter" beers. Ross the barman was quite happy to inform me about the pub's history, including the time when it lay derelict... More

Popped into this quaint old pub the other weekend and was impressed with its character and choice of ales from local breweries, the ones I sampled were excellent, worth a visit if your in the area.
