Good old fashioned pub

I prefer this place in winter when the log fire is lit but even in the early summer before the holiday season really gets underway its good for a quick pint of real ale Good selection of beer and a bit of local history

Had steak and chips. Steak was ok. Chips were really really good. Service was a bit slow and our food ended up on the wrong table. Good choice of ale, in my mind the best place for a beer in dartmouth.

it may be old but there was a distinctly unwelcome smell on entering the bar area. Dining room upstairs was okay, service was average. We know that many ingredients come in catering packs but would have preferred not to see large plastic containers of sauce going into the small kitchen! Food was okay, frozen chips acceptable, fish was at least... More

Just looking for somewhere to have a quick coffee but once settled in the bar saw the menu and decided to stay for lunch. Really good crab salad and other light meals available. Premises appear very old but were comfortable.

Good food and drink and an amazing timber framed building make The Cherub one of our Dartmouth favourites. We never have a problem booking a table early doors but it gets really busy in the tiny bar later on. Real ales here with an ever changing variety too.

My wife and I visited England for two weeks in April 2015, coming from the United States. We are in our early 70's and had a great time. One day we had wonderful lunch at the Cherub Inn in Dartmouth. The sandwich was very good, the coffee even better, and the conversation with an employee and a guest absolutely fantastic.... More

We came in here for a meal yesterday and really shouldn't have bothered. You would think, that on a busy bank holiday weekend, a restaurant would be a bit more prepared. At the start of service, a great deal of the menu was already unavailable, so we decided not to bother, and tried to order some drinks. I ordered a... More

This is a lovely old pub to visit for a drink but the meal we had in their upstairs restaurant was awful. You can see in the kitchen from the dining room and that alone should have alerted us. It's like something from the 60's very small and pokey. I complained about my burger as it was like a piece... More

Lovely old, traditional and popular pub, in Dartmouth. If you are looking for something 'old English' & character filled, then this is your place! Lovely relaxed atmosphere, with regulars and visitors alike, stopping by. Worth a visit whilst in Dartmouth.
