Having visited The Cherub today with family who are visiting, we were immensely disappointed with the poor quality of food, the prices of the food, and the rude nature of the staff. The sandwiches were £6.95 each, and quite frankly, I would've had a better sandwich from the Co-op round the corner for £1.50. My cousin and I both had... More

We took the trouble to book a table for two and were told it was busy (although it was a Monday). We arrived and as we walked in there was a most unpleasant smell in the bar. We went upstairs and were ushered to a table squashed into the corner of the room, so close to the adjacent table that... More

The Cherub is a great historical building, but the lunch was not. The food took quite a while to come out and the pub was not busy at all. When it did arrive, the temperature of the chips varied; some were cold, some warm. The people with me had hamburgers and one burnt his mouth because the patty was so... More

This is an incredibly old building, and the bar downstairs was a perfect place to stop for a quick lunch. The food was decent, and the service efficient. The upstairs dining rooms looked drab, and boring in comparison to the bar.

Having lived in Dartmouth back in the 70's this was a favourite pub with great food and service. Although an old pub with character, we asked if the upstairs restaurant was open and told it was. We requested drinks from the person taking orders and were told we would have to go downstairs and order at the bar and bring... More

One of my party was so scared they wouldn't enter the pub. This is not a nice place for children (12 year old rugby playing). Went down the road to the seven star and they couldn't be more hospitable. Left a pint in the cherub and that is not like me.

The Cherub had a great build-up, fascinating building but lacking in atmosphere upstairs in the restaurant. Not all items available (early Saturday evening) but were not informed until we had chosen our meal ! Quality of food OK but far better places to eat in Dartmouth.

I can't believe the negative remarks about the Cherub, we had a superb meal there tonight, really friendly waiting staff, good service and great food, the pub/restaurant was packed. We recommend it very highly.

My wife and I visited this pub for lunch on Thursday 29th May 14, we arrived at 1340 hrs and were made most welcome by both bar and dining room staff. We had an excellent lunch and a couple of drinks all served by helpful, friendly and professional staff whom I cannot heap too much praise upon. All in all... More
