Great traditional pub restaurant grub

7 of us ate here, including 3 children, and all of us enjoyed our meal. The fillet steak was of a good quality. There was also a £25 for two steak and carafe of wine deal which was good value, although wine not highest quality food was cooked well. It is a lovely old pub with history and character... read more

Called for a quick drink, lovely young bar girl, good old fashioned pub, small but quirky. Didn't see menu so not sure about food.

this restaurant has gone seriously downhill in recent years. It is not cheap but the food is disappointing in the choice and taste. The tables themselves were sticky, so they appeared unclean, though it may have been th wipes which were making them this way. The bill for the adjacent table actually stuck to the table and had to be... More

Had a great meal on Saturday night with 5 of my friends - so accommodating as we had a dog with us. Steaks were delicious and nothing was too much for the waiting staff - credit to the establishment !

This pub was recommended and is well worth a visit. It is a very small pub but has a great buzz about it. A proper old pub with friendly staff.

Excellent staff, good food, local ales, wonderful building full of character and it is the oldest building in Dartmouth. Centrally located.

Very disappointed with this establishment. We spent the day in Dartmouth; lots of lovely looking restaurants and we opted for this rather charming and historic looking pub. The bar area smelled of dogs - indeed a huge dog came up to me as I was sitting and wagged its tail into me - really off putting. The lady behind the... More

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review we loathe seeing poor reviews as much as you loathe writing them. I would like to assure you that we always use fresh produce & that the peppered smoked salmon that you ate on the day was indeed fresh smoked salmon, flaked and peppered in house, not tinned. We... A great pub, fantastic features and always a good range of beer. The open fire in the winter is a great feature. Have not eaten here yet, but will do when we are back.

On our visit to Dartmouth, to celebrate my wife's birthday, we chose to eat at The Cherub Inn and Restaurant, on the first evening. We had visited the Cherub many years before, so you never know it will be the same, better or worse. Well the food was just as good as times gone by. The service and quality of... More

This is a really lovely olde world pub that is very traditional and atmospheric and had been recommended to us by a friend who lives in the area. Unfortunately we had one drink when we popped in at lunchtime, drank very quickly and left, due to the rude and uninterested barmaid who made us feel totally unwelcome. Our plan was... More
