Usually spending Xmas day at home, we booked lunch 'out' this year for a change. We were looking for a cosy, less formal atmosphere but with quality food and ambience. The Cherub scored 10 out of 10 on all counts. Superb food, promptly served by friendly and welcoming staff and a table by the fire in one of the oldest... More

beautiful looking pub and looks like a museum when you look through the window. too busy fri and sat to get a seat, but went in on weekday. small interior with maybe 7 tables downstairs (plus overflow room upstairs) and old furniture. real ale very good and food fine, but the building has been made into a pub and i... Found this pub by chance when in Dartmouth for the weekend, it was just the place for a drink with the family by the fire, all cozy and warm and olde worldy. So good that a second visit was made. Plenty of dogs in residence as well snuggling in the warmth. I'd say this was the best pub in Dartmouth... More

This 14th century pub being the oldest building in Dartmouth was hidden away behind the main street. It has many original features so be prepared to be whisked back in time from the moment you walk in! The downstairs bar is small but cozy and we received a warm welcome from the bar staff and the atmosphere is friendly and... More

A lovely olde worlde pub and restaurant just off the main street. Not very large but that said it adds to the atmosphere as more people arrive. Dogs are allowed in the pub and food is served down in the bar. Be aware that if it gets too busy then food isn't served downstairs as it gets too hazardous for... More

A tiny mediaeval inn situated in a quiet backwater, yet only yards up a stepped alleyway from the bustling main street. Blackened oak beams galore both inside and out. If 20 people assembled in the bar room it would be packed. An even smaller restaurant on the first floor is reached via a steep staircase.Bags of atmosphere and genuine Olde... More

The seafood menu was very good. The seafood plater was well received by my guest and I enjoyed the smacked haddock. The toilets are upstairs and a bit of a climb, but this is a lovely old pub. They do not allow you to run a tab, so every round of drinks or food had to be paid for as... More

If you like really old pubs then don't miss this one! A great variety of real ales and a good menu at reasonable prices. Bar staff very friendly and helpful.

The building is beautiful, dating back to the 1300s and the interior just as you would expect from a building that age, beamed ceilings, sloping floors, limited space. The food could have been better. My husbands sole goujons (£10.95) were over cooked, however my smokey was fantastic but possibly slightly overpriced at (£7.95) for a 'light bite/starter'. What let the... More

It's a great place for a quiet pint/bite to eat after a long walk or hard day's shopping! Reasonable prices as well
