Good, but pricey

The staff here were friendly and looked after us well. The food was good and we had a lovely time. However, I did feel bit ripped off when added vegetables are an extra cost on top of a pricey main course. The atmosphere was good, but the tables are quite squashed together. A small restaurant with 2/3 too many tables crammed inside. It felt like we were sharing with the table next door where I even had to excuse myself when getting up to go to the restroom! (embarrassing!) Food was fine, I am a fan of Mitch Tonks with many of his fish books, but it was overpriced. Wine also pricey.... More

Our friends had been to the Seahorse before and raved about it, so as a treat they took us. On the plus side the wine and service were excellent. However we felt the food left a little to be desired. The starters crab was totally unappetising being a brown mush in a crab shell with no garnish/lemon. The scallop starter... More

Mitch Tonks is a seafood magician or artist. The menu here is always varied but based on locally caught fish and seafood. First place I have experienced the subtel flavour of Sea Urchin.

I won't rant on & I'll keep to the point . Been wanting to eat here for a while & thought I'd book for valentines ! We eat out a lot across the board & this is an honest review . Lovely restaurant ... Tables a bit crammed & not much privacy if you want a private conversation ! Although... More

A little gem of a find for five star quality We came on the evening the new floor had been laid and we expected a few teething problems but no, nothing except calm and a welcome greeting . We had booked for the £20 per head early diner not because of expense but wanting to eat early. Despite being first... More

Everything you would expect from an upmarket restaurant. Superb food and service. Nice atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Dartmouth.

Have a second home in Darty for last four years and have visited Seahorse on several occasions and recommended to family and friends. Went for a last minute treat last Friday and got a table due to cancellation, the food as usual was superb but we were close to a couple who obviously wanted us to share their life history.... More

The meal we had for my birthday was really nice, simple but very tasty. The best bit was a cheese board. I am a cheese lover and I tried many cheeses but this selection was truly special. Very interesting wine list. The restaurant itself has got a great atmosphere you really feel like you are somewhere in France.
