Didn't dissapoint

We have been trying to come and try the seahorse for the last year and we eventually made it. Superb food and service. The menus is exciting and varied, fish heavy but not exclusively. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented. High end but very reasonably priced.

First of all I would like to say that our food was excellent, so why only 3 stars? Well it's all about size really, not the portions but the room. There is no lobby so when you enter you are faced with a curtain through which you make your entrance rather like Morecambe & Wise circa 1970! There is banquette... More

We went here on a Saturday lunch there were 4 of us dining out for a Birthday celebration. You could choose the £20 2 course lunch menu or go all out a choose from the main menu. We chose from the main menu. The service was brilliant from start to finish, appetisers were delicious. We had starter, main and dessert... More

We've been visiting Dartmouth for 20 years and I've always been reluctant to eat at the Seahorse, which I believed to be very formal, expensive and lacking in atmosphere. However when my wife discovered that they offer an early set menu for "locals", I decided it would be a good opportunity to try it. We arrived at 7pm to find... More

We were visiting the Seahorse to celebrate a birthday and it turned out to be a superb place to do just that! We started with a gin and tonic and a glass of prosecco and our starters were scallops roasted in the shell and a mozarello salad with blood oranges. We followed with roasted John Dory and grilled Dover Sole.... More

Had lunch with friends and despite trying hard, couldn't find even the smallest thing to moan about! The food was of the highest quality but simply prepared. We all had the calves liver as our main & it was cooked to perfection. Our starters - two had the fish soup, two the smoked salmon with a celery & pink peppercorn... More

My family and I had an early meal on NYE at the seahorse and it was fantastic. Best seafood restaurant I've been to, plus the chef was there to take our orders and make recommendations. They were very flexible in making something for my 3 year old, and all of the staff were charming. The decor is fab and it... More

Why we've never been before is beyond me. Super food and atmosphere. We took the Locals menu and were blown away by the quality of the food. Service was excellent and great to see Mitch Tonks greeting regulars and newbies like us with the same attentiveness. It takes great skill to cook like this but also great skill to create... More
