Sit outside for stunning views

It is worth sitting outside for the views but beware that if ordering anything sweet it will attract the wasps! Despite there being traps for them they were bothering other guests. We managed to eat a cream tea without too much disturbance.

We came here after a morning in Clovelly walking down to the quay and back up the hill. We had a crab sandwich and a sausage sandwich. There was nothing wrong with the food, but it was in no way exciting. The sandwiches came on sliced wholemeal bread with a salad garnish, and whilst pleasant enough I would have thought... More

Bland food, in particular the tuna baguette and the ham baguette both being dry without any taste. Coffee lukewarm and tasteless. Service fairly unfriendly and although the views from the garden were nice enough, wasps and flies make the experience even more miserable. Pricey as well. A good miss. Carry on past down to the quay for some tasty seafood.

We came here on the way back up from the harbour, stopped off (inside sadly) for a cream tea and a drink. The staff were very friendly and willing to chat about Clovelly, and the service was great. The cream tea was ok, the scones could possibly have been fresher however it was served beautifully and there was plenty of... More

This is probably a 2.5 not a 2, but it's not average. Food wasn't so much bad, it just didn't match the stunning views and came with below average service. If you come on a nice day then head for the garden, the views are truly outstanding, and if you are looking for a cup of tea I'm sure your... More

A lovely little tearoom that was perfect for a mid way back to the top stop off hot chocolate. Our boys were completely impressed with the mountain of cream on the hot chocolate and the fact it smothered their noses! The staff were helpful and polite and the views are Stunning!

On your way down to the harbour make sure you stay and linger for a while, it was a lovely day and our little group sat outside which had stunning views down to the harbour . Thought the food was very reasonably priced all freshly prepared and homemade cakes one of our party has to stick to a gluten free... More

Clovelly can be a challenging place, hard on the toes going down the cobbles and tough on the legs coming back up! The Cottage tea rooms offer respite half way up/down the hill (for those who have not been to Clovelly, it has very steep, cobbled paths leading down to the quay) Housed in one of the tiny cottages on... Good atmosphere and great views. The food was good was a little on the pricey side, however, it is in the middle of a tourist attraction so to be expected.

Made a nice change to find a good gluten free selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones. A little pricey but worth a few pounds just to sit outside and admire the view.
