Rib eye review

Steak night on Monday and two rib eye steaks for £20. We had to try and we were not disappointed. The steaks were both cooked as we liked them and were accompanied by chips, peas, mushrooms, and a fried tomatoe. We had the victory toffee pudding for afters, which went down well. All in all, good... read more

Good old fashioned pub. Visited for fish and chips on Friday night - 2 meals for £12, and Sunday lunch £6.95 per head. Really good value. Drinks a bit pricey though

We called in for a pre dinner drink as the outside is so quaint and inviting sadly the buck stops at the door as the atmosphere is so unfriendly and the staff do not make you feel welcome also the place doesn't smell very nice

The food was pleasant, however the service was very poor and the roast pork was served without crackling. A great mistake.

Called into the Victory Inn on a recent holiday to St Mawes. The Fish and chips which is a Friday speciality was absolutely fantastic. We were sat upstairs where the atmosphere is not quite as nice as the downstairs bar restaurant so would advise booking to be seated in the bar. If I had one criticism it would be to... More

The pub is just off the main street and is small low ceilinged, divided as a bar with floorboards, and a dining area with carpet. Decoration is mainly sailing pictures from 1950s and though the decor is uptodate the place feels old and homely. We got a welcome, including our dog, and some good beer. We had some very acceptable... More

Nice pub, with reasonable food and friendly welcome. A nice refuge in St Mawes. Did not have a large lunch, but made welcome all the same.

I'm loathe to give reviews which reflect my disappointment, especially as other fellow Tripadvisors seem to have had much better. My wife and I were touring the stunningly beautiful Roseland peninsula, with its spectacular Heritage coastline, and arrived in St Mawes last Friday afternoon around 2:30pm. Spotting the sandwich board for the Victory Inn offering food we made our way... More

My wife and I stopped here after a long walk in this very beautiful part of Cornwall. This pub is tucked away up steps behind the village's shops. It has a small eating only section that provides typical pub grub,in WINTER the costs are reasonable - Sunday roast £6.95, Fish and Chips £10.We had the latter which were well presented... More

Visited for evening meal which was delicious, had the special fish dish that night, staff friendly and a good atmosphere in the pub. Well worth a visit if you're there.
