Nice fish and chips eventually

Called in for fish and chips having arrived late at our holiday destination. We ordered and were told 7 minutes, after at least 20 minutes our takeaway was ready to serve. However after putting the chips into cartons the staff member broke off to take another order before adding our fish. Chaotic... read more

Went here with the family for our last night. Food really disappointing, burger had raw mincemeat in the middle, chips were greasy and fish curry had minimal fish even though it's priced at £20. Table next to us were given the wrong order also. Would rather go back to the hidden hut which was fantastic by the way and good... More

Really liked this restaurant went twice. Don't be put off by the exterior it does not do justice to this place. The staff are lovely, very friendly and cannot do enough. We were staying at the idle rocks hotel but much preferred eating here as the atmosphere was great but especially the fab food.......especially the crab cakes

We decided as a last night treat to have takeaway fish and chips sitting overlooking the harbour. £14 for two take away portions was frankly shocking as the fish appeared to be very regular (as in a frozen preformed "fillet") and the twice cooked chips (yawn!) were very greasy, small in number and accompanied with a shovel full of greasy... Ate dinner here whilst staying in St Mawes mid-May. Good service, Paul enjoyed the seafood chowder, My spinach and ricotta ravioli with lovely crunchy nuts was also good, although the ravioli was perhaps a little too al dente for my taste.Paul's sea bass and chorizo main also very good. The pear and frangipane tart with caramel ice cream was gorgeous.... More

After a night in the Tresanton and Sun Rising Inn decided to try the Watch House. Friendly staff, good service and a lovely place to sit. Mains of steak and chicken were delicious so decided to order a sweet. Such a disappointment, literally after two mouthfuls it would have been gone! Spoke to the waitress who explained it was how... This restaurant is a great find as it delicious, creative and reasonably priced. The servers are very knowledgeable as well.

A lovely, unassuming, place with excellent food. Friendly staff, interesting menu and happy to cater for our toddler. Would happily come again.

Decided on a late lunch and chose the Watch House - very pleasant young lady served us with excellent snack lunch. I would certainly return for a more substantial meal that I am confident would be excellent.

We were looking for somewhere to eat in St Mawes and The Watch House looked inviting and the menu interesting. We had a table upstairs with a lovely view, delicious food and an incredible waitress, Sarah, who singlehandedly served nine tables on two floors with minimal waiting time. A most pleasurable experience.
