The best fish & chips we have had in along time, the crushed peas are amazing as well. Be prepared to wait as the fish is made to order.

We were looking for somewhere to eat in St Mawes and The Watch House looked inviting and the menu interesting. We had a table upstairs with a lovely view, delicious food and an incredible waitress, Sarah, who singlehandedly served nine tables on two floors with minimal waiting time. A most pleasurable experience.

Lovely views, nice friendly staff. Must have had a big delivery of mussels because they were in 4 out of 5 of our dishes ... Unfortunately I'm allergic to them!

Dropped in for lunch instead of using their fish n chip takeaway outlet. Nice and clean, simple but plenty of choice on the lunch menu. Good choice for the kids. The food was very nice, especially the beer battered cod. Simply food but with some nice twists that make this a place we will come back to.

We were very impressed with this unassuming little place for lunch. Simple food, well done & excellent service. Good use of local produce & v reasonable prices. I'm pregnant & the chef took the time to come out and explain more about the dishes to me so I could make an informed choice. This is a very child friendly place... More

Visited three times whilst on holiday, friendly staff, divine breakfasts, good coffee and in a great position on the beach.

We were the very first through the door on their "re-opening" night. They specialise in seafood (naturally) and it's very good indeed. Imaginative offerings and all delicious. The service was good (we had two little ones with us and they were very good with children's needs!) Highly recommended.

Called in for afternoon tea and scones whilst recently holidaying in St Mawes. We were the only people in the restaurant as it was a cold blustery day. Pretty average sort of place

Very good food, had the Winter Chowder followed by Brill with brown shrimp butter from the specials, also tried fish curry and cod and chips. All wonderful, the Brill was beautifully cooked and has probably spoiled me for fish in my local restaurants. Staff friendly and ambience good. Prices not cheap but not stratospheric either, (if you're after bargains I... More
