Always dependable

Popped in for a quick coffee, followed by a lunchtime fish & chips. Happy and helpful staff and a good clean layout overlooking the beach. Food was quickly served and very tasty.

Called in for lunch. We have eaten here before and love the view of Porthgwidden beach from the restaurant. We ordered a couple of cappuccinos but found them to be luke warm. (Apparently, it was the fault of a new milk frother, which needed to be adjusted.) My food was ok (chicken ceasar salad) but my wife told me that... More

Came across this restaurant by chance as we were walking around the headland . Looked at the menu and the outdoor terrace and decided to give it a try. We were welcomed by Joanne who was looking after both inside and out by herself she was so welcoming to both ourselves and our dogs. The food was first rate, tasty... More

There's no doubt about the quality of the food at this place which is very good. But on a wet and windy night when we visited, what was needed was a cosy intimate atmosphere to banish thoughts of our uncomfortable walk home. Unfortunately the design lends itself more to daytime dining when you can enjoy its delightful airy aspect right... More

Stumbled across this café wandering the back streets on our first trip to St. Ives. Wasn't expecting much at all from previous experiences of beach cafes whose charges reflected location rather than their offer. How different this was. Great view of the beach, lovely lunch - burger and bagette with beer and wine at a reasonable price and great service.... More

We always visit the Porthgwidden Cafe when we visit St.Ives. We decided to pop in for breakfast during our long weekend in February. The cafe was busy but we were fortunate enough to get a seat with a view. Both my wife and I had the traditional breakfast with homemade hashbrown. It was served promptly and was pipping hot. What... My wife and I just returned from a fabulous long weekend in St Ives. We stayed in a cottage style apartment superbly positioned minutes from some of the best beaches I have ever seen. We took in some amazing walks, one being a 6 miler (4 hours) called the Zennor walk, not for the feint hearted but the views are... More

Ate here on our first night in St Ives and had the best meal of our week. The service and ambience of this cosy place is second to none, with an imaginative menu using locally sourced ingredients, this place is spot on. The lovely girls front of house, are warm and friendly. We returned for the fish chowder for lunch... More

My wife and I ate there last Sunday (8/2/15) it was very good - simple chicken baguette with salad and chips. No complaints and in fact they served the only decent chips we had whilst in St Ives the others were apalling see my other reviews. This is a very nice restaurant with excellent views over the beach and Gwithian.... More
