Excellent food, excellent service.

Fantastic food and great service...they were great with our fussy 5 year old who wanted seafood linguine without the scallops, mussels and crab! Basically she had linguine with king prawns. Delicious bottle of white Rioja too. Would definitely recommend and will be back next time we visit St Ives.

Food was cooked as it should be (apart from cold soup) but tables too close together (no sense of privacy) and staff a wee bit surly/curt. Prices too expensuve for what is served and HOW it is served. Will not come again.

They serve a very appetizing range of starters, we had scallops and chicken liver parfait. We then followed with a very good local dish of Hake that was most enjoyable. Small but varied wine list.

Really enjoyed the food at Seagrass - I had sweet potato soup, prawns with frites and chocolate mousse (which was to die for!). However the service at Seagrass was really terrible, such a shame after I had booked to take my partner as a treat for his birthday. I booked a table for 8pm (about 6weeks in advance!). We got... After a long journey, our request for a table that evening was met with a real desire to find something suitable. Front of house staff were super: extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. Food was great: the hake was excellent and the gnocchi, which tasted as though it had been freshly made very recently, was delicious. Wine list was super and... More

We booked a table for 6:30pm the night before my 50th birthday because we had read great reviews about this restaurant. We booked an early table because we were taking our young daughter with us, however, when we arrived we were asked if we'd been told that our table was needed by 8pm as they are expecting a hen party... Had the lobster, beautifully prepared and dressed. All obviously fresh food cooked to order. Saw other diners with the starter of mussels and regretted not ordering for myself. Best desert is the banoffee pie by a country mile. All superb, and staff were very friendly.

Staff served efficiently but there was little if any warmth. Food was mixed. My starter mackerel and fennel was good but needed a little bread to go with it - there was none. The hake as my main was good. The steak was good but the chips were sadly soggy - the chips at the Black Rock by comparison was... More

O wow, another fantastic hot sea food medley, which although quite expensive was gorgeous. A great atmosphere and the choice is great. The service is fast and really friendly. Great setting too

We visited Seagrass our last evening in St. Ives. The previous two nights had been at two of the top rated restaurants which were fine. Not great but good. I feel that the staff makes such a difference with the dining experience. The two gals working at Seagrass paid attention and knew the food. I feel that servers in UK... More
