Went into the Queens for their sandwich and chips deal today in my lunchbreak. Ordered at 12.40 (started at 12.30) and waited, and waited and waited. One poor staff member rushed off their feet (the ordering of my lunch took nearly ten minutes as she had to leave me to deliver food and then sauces etc). Sat with my mum... More

We spent some time in St Ives trying to find a pub where we could eat that wasn't showing sport loudly on Saturday afternoon and we ended up in The Queens Hotel. It was fairly quiet when we arrived and got a bit busier through the evening. There was only one member of staff but he coped well serving at... More

We have been coming here for Sunday lunch every time we visit St Ives for the last few years. It has always been slightly shabby chic with a smile and great value. However, now the smile has been replaced by "who gives a toss" service and the place has lost its direction. We are willing to accept change and the... More

Always pay a visit to the Queens when we are in St Ives. The sandwiches at lunchtime are gorgeous, on lovely bread and accompanied by some of the best chips I have ever tasted. Love their fish and chips too. The staff are really friendly and jolly and don't mind when you walk in with two dogs covered in sand.... More

The rooms were perfectly clean but basic. The description my partner read of 'contemporary' style rooms wasn't exactly accurate. On arriving at the bar we were ignored by the member of staff who was busy chatting with a regular. When shown to our room we were taken to a very dark corridor and staircase that reminded us of something more... More

1) The staff are normal!! Friendly, and treat you like human beings (unlike other restaurants). 2) The food is superb! 3) Why isn't this place in the top 10 of restaurants in St Ives? This place ticks all the boxes. I am just bewildered as-to why this place isn't full up with people like me who love and know their... More

I can honestly say that this was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. I expected a certain standard as it had been recommended to me and because it is gastro pub grub but it was amazing and far exceeded my expectations. There was a great choice, everything was perfectly presented and tasted great and there was a... More
