Creative and delicious menu

A small, intimate restaurant with a small but totally inspired menu. Delicious food, great atmosphere, friendly staff. Nothing to dislike - even the loos were impressive. Would definitely eat there again.

Visited here a couple of years ago and had Risotto which was tasty enough but just wasn't warm enough. Had the Crab Gnocchi this time, very small portion and again wasn't warm enough and not helped by being served in a cold dish. Also ordered the Ribeye Steak which was a terrible piece of meat, the waitress did knock half... More

A quite short menu that would benefit from more specials of the day. Althought good selection and fresh food. Sea scallops and beef recommended, provencal stew type bouillabaise not really mastered tomato sauce too salty and not enough seafood flavor Very efficient service even with restaurant full Very affordable wine selection

Great little restaurant with attentive waitresses and excellent food. We go for an early sitting, always able to get in, but recommend booking.

We managed to get into Black Rock for the early bird menu at short notice and without booking, although during the main tourist season, booking is essential. The service was excellent, and the absolutely wonderful. We had starters and mains from the early bird menu, which included squid rings, goats cheese, Mediterranean fish stew and monkfish. We've been here before,... More

My girlfriend and I visited The Black Rock whilst on holiday in St Ives and we were very impressed by the food. We had the crap claws and salt & pepper squid to start and both chose the belly pork for the main course. Everything was superb. Our only criticism was that nothing on the desert menu appealed to us... More

On the first night of our week long break in Cornwall we ate here. We were gratefully squeezed in after our table wasn't going to be occupied until much later. Our starters were delicious, mussels with chorizo and cider. Our mains were monkfish with a coconut dahl and a lovely fish stew. Our 7 year old daughter had monkfish and... More

A brilliant seafood restaurant with some nice twists to the menu. I had the monk fish with Dahl and aubergine and I would have to say the combination worked perfectly. The Dahl was cooked just right with a bit of firmness still in the lentils and the flavour was such, that it didn't over power the delicate flavour of the... More

We chose the Black Rock for our first evening based on TripAdvisor reviews.. And we were not disappointed! The food was gorgeous, I ordered crab cakes and my partner had crab claws to start, we also shared a few scallops. For main I had mussels and my partner a steak which was melt in the mouth! Delicious! The staff were... More
