Tonight we visited Port Isaac to have a look around as we are fans of Doc Martin, we thought we would finish off our little excursion with a portion of takeaway fish and chips from The Old School Hotel and Restaurant, which with the outside benches sits on the opposite side of the harbour from the Docs house - very... Stayed 3 nights at The Old School Hotel. Ideal location above the harbour however our room, whilst it was clean, desperately required refurbishment. It was also very small and the bathroom was tiny. Also the staff appeared to be constantly under pressure and rarely smiled. Breakfasts were really good and there was a good selection of choices available.

We were made very welcome and they fitted us in with no notice. The food was well cooked and tasty, with ample portion size. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the toilets were very clean! Will be returning.

Recently visited for a light bite, my summary is that a few of the staff have the wrong attitude to customers / customer service. This lets the place down. Food was only average, much better places to try further down the hill towards the harbour.

We found this gem of a restaurant purely by chance and we are very glad we did. The service was brilliant and the choice of food was excellent and the portions were huge, it tasted extremely fresh and very tasty. Would highly recommend.

Nice venue, nice views over Port Isaac and good food. I had the moules marinieres, which were very fresh. Only complaint is the service was a little slow.

We chose the Old School restaurant in port Isaac because of it's quaint period charm. We sat in the bar area on a small table and ordered some food and drinks. The food was not cheap with our fish pies being over £12 each and they came with a small basic salad and some plain boiled veg. Our daughter had... More

If your thinking of using this restaurant then DONT. We went here after spending a super day with close friends. We walked in just after it opened into the reception / bar area. We were ignored and had to press the bell on the bar. A waitress then asked what we wanted, we informed her we would like a table... More

Lovely breakfast ! Bacon and waffles with maple syrup and a coffee . Fab building and I love that it reflects the school that it used to be . I also loved the art work ! Definetly will be returning .
