We had dinner in The Old School Hotel without reservation when it was fully booked, but the friendly staff managed to get us a table for 5 in the bar and we were treated with a very good and friendly service. The food was very good though nothing spectacular, good atmosphere, not cheap but nothing too expensive compared to other... More

Party of 9 stopped off here for cream tea. Excellent portions and lovely light scones. Sat outside under parasols. £5 a person was good value considering the setting, quality and quantity.

My partner and I both enjoyed the experience of dining in "Doc Martin's School House" Our meals were fresh and tasty and the service was good. We did not book, but were able to get a walk up table without any delay.

We just stopped in here on the off chance and had a delicious Cornish cream. It was 2 warm scones with jam and clotted cream. Delicious! The surroundings were lovely and you could chose to sit inside or out.

We enjoyed fish & chips at this restaurant. Portion size was very good and good value for money. Service was prompt at a busy time.

My family and I visited The Old School restaurant recently for the advertised afternoon tea which was enjoyable BUT I requested a cheese sandwich for our 10 month old baby granddaughter which was literally one slice of white bread with the cheese filling. I was charged £3 for this sandwich. Extortionate price!!!! Plus there was no facility for changing her... More

Just back from a great ten night break in Cornwall! Whilst there we visited The Old School House for lunch. I had crab salad and my husband had a crab baguette plus cheesy chips. I will say that the food was marvellous and plentiful - well worth the money and my husband could not finish all his meal ( which... More

The Old School Hotel is excellent with a good English Breakfast. My Tip is have a bit of cash with you because there is no Bank ! Yes you can use debit/credit cards but the only place to get cash is up at the Co-Op provided you some thing in the shop ! There was a Cash Machine outside but... More

On the positive side, the staff were lovely - very attentive and happy. Plus it's really nice to have tablecloths on the tables (so many don't seem to these days). The dining hall is very much as you would imagine from an old school and that was quite fun. However, the food was very disappointing. A simple menu; much as... More
