Lovely food, friendly staff

Had a lovely birthday meal here back in November. It is a small restaurant so make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment. A friendly welcome and didn't feel rushed when eating. Could see the food being cooked where we sat. The food was cooked really well and presented lovely. A nice... read more

If you are visiting Polperro then make sure you book a table at the Kitchen. We have visited a number of times, most recently between Christmas and New Year, and the meal was as superb as ever. Harry (despite being a Spurs fan!) is a great host, nothing is too much trouble and Karen produces the most fantastic menu from... More

My partner and I had dinner at the Kitchen with 2 friends on New Years Eve. This has to be the best evening I have enjoyed for a very long time. The food was absolutely fantastic, the host Harry (front of house) and wife Karen (chef) were perfect and it gets even better as the bill at the end of... More

Really good food, a good balance between original, traditional and hearty. We were very impressed by the care put in the menu and the presentation of the food. The service is also very attentive and very personal, the hosts really go out of their way to make you feel at home and make a bit of conversation, which is a... More

When we arrived we wondered if we had made a mistake. It doesn't look much from the outside. But as soon as we walked in we were made to feel so welcome. The food was absolutely delicious and made even more special by the lovely warm, friendly, nothing is too much trouble service.

We visited here on my birthday on the last evening of our stay in Polperro. I can honestly say that this was one of the very best dining experiences of my whole life. It was mouth-watering from start to finish. I had the Venison and my partner the Cornish beef steak. Both cooked to perfection. An excellent selection of wines,... More

Visited Polperro for the first time in five years and were delighted to find that our favourite cafe had become a fantastic restaurant. Karen`s cooking is a joy to eat, local ingredients beautifully cooked and presented and Harry is without doubt the best maitre`d in Cornwall. In fact the food is so good we ate there twice during our stay... More
