Polperro restaurants focus on typical pub fare, huge servings where volume wins out over quality, not so with Kitchen where the chef clearly understands and appreciates quality food. The result is great food cooked to perfection. Highlights for me include; home baked bread, flavoured with rosemary; duck breast cooked to perfection; a truly delicious flourless chocolate cake, all topped off... More

We went to the kitchen for my husband's birthday and had a lovely meal - lots of local Cornish ingredients including the duck and beef which were perfectly cooked and beautifully seasoned and presented, the absence of a peppercorn sauce was refreshing and the homemade gooseberry jam that accompanied the duck was a real treat. Puddings were delicious and came... More

Working for a well known Cornish restaurant myself, have to confess I am very choosy about where I eat... But I would wholeheartedly recommend The Kitchen! Truly scrumptious scallops with a beautiful apple and pistachio dressing, followed by one of the loveliest fillet steaks I've ever had, with mouth watering dauphinoise potatoes... Really do NOT understand the reviewer who was... More

Amazing food and fabulous host Harry, with a very picky daughter in tow nothing was too much trouble, steaks to die for just how we like them cooked - thank you Karen, couldn't decide on the pud choice so much to choose we ended up ordering every single one including amazing cheese board . We had an evening meal at the Kitchen during our stay in Polperro. The food, the service and the relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant was conducive to making this the perfect meal.

Well...... I actually can not believe the amazing reviews for this place, iv never been more disappointed in a meal out.... We only booked based on these reviews and really wish we hadn't bothered! The quality of the food they buy in seems good but absolutely tasteless..... I ordered the fillet steak and asked for pepper corn sauce and was... More

Dined here for evening meal and we had a really enjoyable experience, the welcome was very warm and friendly and the food very well cooked and presented using local ingredients, we were offered a parking space across the road from the restaurant which saved paying and walking down from the main car park at the top of the hill. Would... More

A really small restaurant I gather owned by a chap who moved to the area forty years ago. Food was well cooked and served. Really nice to be openly welcomed we will go back

Looking for an early dinner we stopped here and were very fortunate to get a table without a reservation. It's a husband and wife operation plus one charming waitress. The food and service were faultless. Fresh local ingredients beautifully prepared. Worth a journey to eat here.

Our Nana took us to the Kitchen last night, we think its is the best meal we have ever had. My sister had the crab, lemon sole, and chocolate cake to finish, she said it is the best fish she has ever tasted. I had bruchetta, duck, and meringue with raspberries, really really great. Harry made us very welcome and... More
