Outstanding character

Wow what a lovely place...unique...and scrumptious food. Will go back again. We went in the evening out of season. It was lovely and warm and welcoming and tge food was reasonably priced. I would like to go back during the day to fully appreciate this very old place.

What a pleasantly quirky pub! - brilliantly located just outside Polperro, its interesting conversion fifty years ago from a mill to an inn was summarized by mine host when we arrived, well documented with photos on the walls of the lounge bar, with all sorts of nooks, crannies and alcoves to explore from one bar to the next. The Sunday roast... More

The pub is beautiful, the best in Polperro in fact visually, has good ales on offer and a nice atmosphere, the staff are also attentive and polite. My only gripe, is the price of the food v.s the quality of it, being vegetarian I was happy to see a veggie section on the pub menu, something you don't see too... More

Good ales and lovely people. Liked having our dog 'Boyo' in the bar. Most welcoming. Enjoyed ready where the resident teddybear had visited. The landlady made a special effort for Boyo to feel at home. Lovely Christmas decorations and adequate parking if needed.

Fifteen of us went to the Crumpehorn for our staff night out. Friendly staff, welcoming warmth, cosy characterful ambience. Being a vegetarian I opted for the garlic mushroom starter followed by the veggie curry. Both were good choices, the garlic mushrooms were served on top of slices of garlic bread with a deliciously creamy sauce. The curry, which I had... More

We are fortunate enough to live close enough to the Crumplehorn Inn to be regular customers. The food is fantastic (particularly the fish and chips!) and served in generous portions. The beer (Tintagel Ales) is a local brew, well kept and just about the best real ale I have ever tasted (and I have tasted a lot; good beer is... More

We visited for our anniversary lunch. The welcome was lovely, we were informed well of what was/wasn't available for lunch. The meal was pleasant, not overly spectacular, but nice. Chicken burger; fillet was nice albeit a little overcooked and seasoning would have made it better. Despite this little moan, I would return as the pub and ambience is quaint and... More

Took my ageing Father for a weekend break to Looe, and popped down to Polperro for a quick pit stop. We went into use the toilet and was greeted by the friendliest gentleman who made us feel so welcomed we stayed for a drink. The drink turned into another and then we decided to eat. A sandwich each was the... More
