Friendly Service - Good Food

The hostess greeted us as we arrived and was friendly but not overbearing. We all enjoyed our meal including me - a vegetarian. There is nice atmosphere and it is quiet enough that you can enjoy conversation with your friends (or partner). Highly recommended.

Rachael gave us a very warm welcome. The food was beautifully presented and we decided to go for the Chateau Briand Fillet steak for two. It was amazing. There's an abundance of wines available which add to the experience. A family run business that will no doubt go from strength to strength. If you get a table, you won't be... More

Warm welcome on arrival. Superb starters of duck and thai monkfish. Husband's steak cooked to perfection and my chicken beautiful. Good value even if side dishes are extra. Where else can you get a locally sourced sirloin steak in a fine dining restaurant for £10.95? Good service, and a lovely touch that they brought husband a dessert with candle free... More

We went to the Bakehouse for an anniversary dinner and were delighted by the experience. The service was sublime , from the friendly welcome, through every course. Every detail is considered and every need anticipated. The focaccia appetiser was delicious. As vegetarians we were well catered for and the roasted vegetable and halloumi main was amazing. Great food, great ambience... More

Beautiful food, fantastic hosts and great setting. I have been to the Bakehouse several times and loved it each single time. The lemon tart is exceptional!

This was a recommendation from the proprietor whose property I had rented for the week. A lovely little restaurant off the beaten track in a cobble square. The menu was set for New Year's Eve and all I had my eye on was the steak. It was juicy, succulent and cooked medium rare how I like. Pudding was cheeses from... More

We have been having an xmas meal here for a few years now. The food is enjoyed by all and its a friendly but an hour for a cold starter is too long for us. Apparently they have a small kitchen and you have to be prepared to wait. Somewhere else next year.

This restaurant is in a good location and is very good in size. The staff were lovely and welcoming. The steaks were nice and the service was great. The portion sizes were really good. However, I was a little disappointed that you have to order all your main side orders separately from the steak such as chips, onion rings and... More

Tucked away in a little mews just off historic Chapel Street is this wonderful little restaurant. Brilliant service and lovely atmosphere. Tasty local produce presented very well.
