looking at the menu outside the prices seemed very reasonable however you have to order potatoes/chips salad as sides which bumps the price up. There were eight of us in our party and we booked a table for 8.00 we finally got our meal which was only mains and all steaks at 9.10. Not only was it overpriced the service... More

My wife and I went to the Bakehouse based on the numerous reviews here on Tripadvisor as well as the recommendation of our B&B host. I would rate the dinner as okay but nothing extraordinary. We had two starters: thr Japanese style scallops and the duck breast salad. Both were okay but I would have preferred the duck breast medium... More

Wherever we visit, my wife and I try to visit a different restaurant each day during our stay. Our short trip to Penzance was an exception. Although we stayed there only four nights, we dined on two successive evenings at the Bakehouse Restaurant. Why? Because every dish, every mouthful was a delight. On the first evening, my main course was... More

I booked a table for two and asked about gluten free items on the menu. I was informed not a problem and to mention it when we had been seated. This we did and a menu marked up with the gluten free items produced immediately. The service was friendly and unobtrusive. The timing of the food arriving was just right.... More

The restaurant is hidden away through an archway into a quiet landscaped alley. The staff are welcoming and the food was delicious. We will definitely be returning when we visit Penzance again.

The focaccia to start with was some of the best I'd ever had. The fish was even better and the vegetables were presented with the minimum of fuss and the maximum of taste.

We have eaten here a few times now and it's always brilliant. The food is absolutely amazing and the service has always been fantastic. The chicken liver starter is the best I've ever had.

Tucked away in a little side street, the Bake House offers a truly lovely experience. Although they don't really cater for children in the way of a children's menu, they do half size portions of dishes. Our youngest (3) devoured his fish and chips with great gusto and our eldest (9) polished off a huge plate of mussels! The dine... More
