Perfect meal out

Another amazing night at The Bakehouse, food, service and atmosphere all perfect. We had faultless entrees, starters, mains, sides and desserts.... oh yeah and cocktails. Lovely staff and even the chef popped out to say hello. See you again soon.

We visited The Bakehouse after reading a TripAdvisor review. What a find! The menu was not huge but what was on offer catered for a range of tastes. Our starters were beautifully presented and were delicious. Thai monkfish, local mussels, scallops and a crab bisque. Our main courses were superb too. Locally sourced beef, cod fillet and duck. Again, beautifully... More

We were on a two day fishing trip and walked past this place on the second night just on the off chance. Honestly can't recommend this place highly enough, we all had the lobster to start which was without a doubt the best lobster I have ever eaten and then the Chateaubriand for main which again was superb. Was that... More

I love scallops. I've been scoffing them for the last sixty odd years and, with very few exceptions, have always been delighted with the myriad ways that clever and ingenious chefs have conjured up to serve them. I thought I'd had tried them all, but I tonight I've been proved wrong. The astonishingly talented Andy, owner/chef at The Bakehouse, is... More

Had an excellent two courses here. It's not cheap but it's work every penny. The Thai monkfish starter is to be commended and my medium rare sirloin streak was with Dophinois and salad was spot on. Pretty good wines by the glass, too. Useful if you are eating solo.

The service and staff were fantastic very friendly and happy to help. However we felt it was let down by some mediocre food. Little finishing touches we felt could have been better like boiled potatoes with nothing on them. I wouldn't want to discourage people from going here just order wisely as some dishes were much better than others.

We had a great time, and really yummy food! I had the scallops to start, which were so so good! And the special cut of steak, which was a great size and cooked perfectly. It's a lovely setting and has such a nice atmosphere! I would definitely recommend going here for a delicious meal!

We went to The Bakehouse for a joint birthday and engagement celebration and it was absolutely amazing! It was the first time I had been to the The Bakehouse and I cannot wait to go back! The food was absolutely exquisite. We all had a different starter and main course and not one person left a crumb! I personally can... More

We have been coming to the Bakehouse for 13 years and always enjoy our evenings here. Food is delicious, fairly priced served by competent friendly staff. Well done Rachel and Andy and your team we look forward to our next meal at the lovely Bakehouse.
