Lovely warm welcome from Rachel. Husband and I have been before and the food is always good. Thai monkfish to start followed by the juiciest chicken breast in lemon and thyme ever. Husband has smoked duck breast starter and fillet steak cooked to perfection, medium, just how he likes it. Veg and... read more

Occasionally you have a restaurant experience while on holiday that you talk about for years...our experience at this lovely little Penzance eatery, in a wee arcade off Chapel Street, was one of those. We tried three times before we were lucky enough to a) score a table and b) find it open at the right time...so glad we pesevered. The... More

Booked and recommended by our B & B. Popular so booking advised. Warm welcome and interesting menu from cheap set menu to a la carte which can add up if like me you enjoy fillet steak. Some dishes a bit nutty but otherwise excellent. Second night we went to Star Inn near wetherspoons for whole roast chicken for 2 which... More

Came here on the recommendation of the Guesthouse we stayed in on returning from The Isles of Scilly. So pleased we did. As we were reading the menu outside we spoke to diners who were leaving the premises to double check and they too said the food was delicious. The welcome and service was excellent and the food was imaginative... More

Friendly service, very good food. We went before going to the theatre so were able to take advantage of the early bird offer. Excellent value, and would have liked to linger.

Went here with my girlfriend on a Tuesday evening and loved it. The service is good, the menu is varied, and the food is excellent. I had the Morvah Chicken, and the flavours were delicious. My other half had the Pollock and said that it was very good. We also had desserts, and they were excellent as well/ If we're... More

I have dined at The Bakehouse on several occasions. The first time was almost 5 years ago. This place is everything great about dining out in such a wonderful County. Cornwall may not be the land of opportunity or contemporary ideals , it may be stuck ever so gently in the past , but that's it's overwhelming appeal to so... More

What a great place this is! From the telephone booking, to the welcome and the excellent service at table, The Bakehouse excels. It was my first visit and it hopefully won’t be the last. Tucked down a small alleyway off Chapel Street the Bakehouse is very centrally situated; covering two floors it can accommodate a significant number of diners. The... More

The title says it all. The wine was reasonably priced, the starters were well presented and tasty as were the mains, I even had a pudding which I rarely do! Definitely would go there again.

We have yet again enjoyed great quality food and excellent service by Rachel last friday night. This husband and wife team know what people like when dining out. Rachel is front of house and Andy is the chef.
