We have been to The Bake House with our family and grandchildren over the last few years and we all just love it. Rachel and her team give a warm welcome and cannot do enough to accommodate you. The food is 2nd to none - the best steak we have ever tasted. We also have celebrated New Year and birthdays... More

We visited this place for a friends leaving party and it was lovely. I had the rump steak and the peppercorn sauce, which was so yummy! The service was great, the waitress was polite and all our food came out at the same time which was great as there was quite a large group of us. It was a really... More

My parents have been eating at the Bakehouse for years, and my husband, friends and I join them whenever we are in Penzance. Rachel and her team are unfailingly welcoming, and the service is always excellent, they will always try and accommodate. Every meal we have ever had, whatever time of year (birthdays, Christmas time, bank holidays, with a big... More

This restaurant was suggested by our b&bs host as I said I wanted somewhere that wasn't just fish.(My husband & I have very diverging tastes). It was also our 30th wedding anniversary so wanted it to be a bit special. Well, it didn't disappoint. Arrived soaking wet after a walk up from the harbour, we were greeted by the owner... More

We visited bakehouse for the first time recently based on a recommendation from our B&B in Penzance. On arrival we were given a friendly greeting and shown to our table. We were provided with a drinks menu which had a nice selection of wines and were also informed of the specials available for the evening. The staff, whilst taking the... More

We loved this place so much, we ate here two out of the three nights we stayed in Penzance! The food was delicious, and the lady who owned the restaurant was so obviously passionate about the place, coming over more than once on our return visit to check whether we had enjoyed her recommendations (the hake- it was wonderful) and... We were lucky enough to get the last available table the night we dined. The food is great value for money with generous servings.

Have eaten here on holiday for the last 3 years and wish we lived closer. Fish dishes could not be better, especially the Hake which came with mussels and Tuscan inspired sauce. Desserts of a similar quality - try the chocolate cake. Its not cheap, especially if you start having bottles of wine, but the quality of the food makes... More

Although not short of a good restaurant or two this place stands out from the warmth of its welcome to the quality of the cooking and the provenance of its locally sourced ingredients. Bread is baked on the premises, steak comes from animals reared on a local farm, the seafood comes from nearby waters, apart from an octopus salad starter... More

Had some of the most amazing starters ever!! The monk fish must be had. The chateau briands were nice but there was a problem with the order which out a slight dampner on the meal but the starters most certainly over-looked this and the owner (assumed) took care of us and gave us a discount on the bill as a...
