Friendly bar man who was also cook gave a friendly welcome. Old style no frills pub in a tiny village that's claim to fame was that it featured in the film "Straw Dogs",pool table in the mid lounge a negative but the log fire a positive. Today was light lunch time so we opted for two starters,Garlic mushrooms & a... More

Friendly and helpul staff in this quiet , deep in the heart of Cornwall Inn away the normal ` holiday traffic` and bustling crowds. The ale was fine and Iook forward to my next visit.

Rented a cottage in St Buryan in August 2014. Had four evening meals in the local pub during our stay. It's not high-end dining and doesn't pretend to be such but; it is a good local pub serving very good pub food, at reasonable prices, in generous portions, from a short menu (often a good sign) and from our experiences,... Called in for a few drinks and lunch this week during our four day trip to Penzance. Caught the open top bus from Penzance and always wanted to have a look around the village as I knew the film Straw Dogs had been partly filmed around St Buryan. The pub it self was very traditional and the young girl behind... More

Friendly staff and great food, freshly cooked and very tasty. Would recommend booking as the pub filled up very quickly on the evening we were there and we arrived at 5.30pm.

Stopped off on the way to the minack theatre for a family lunch. The food was of a good quality. The staff were friendly and the place had a nice atmosphere. My only complaint would be that the food seemed a few pounds per meal too expensive.

Stayed in St Buryan last week and went to the pub on one occasion. Although a lovely pub, we were put off going there again during our stay as we were felt to be made very unwelcome by one particular local (who I believe had been drinking all day as it was his 65th birthday). My sister-in-law had asked the... More
