Great seafood, good location.

On the harbour although no see views. There with partner and we'll placed for a Walk alongside seafront and a drink or two in the nearby pubs, before and after. Also couple hundred yards from pz's biggest club if you wanna go there afterwards. Stuck mainly tooth sea foo which was all lovely. Good... read more

We came to this restaurant for my birthday. The restaurant is very homely inside and had a lovely atmosphere. We ordered a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon from the menu and all I can say is that it tasted like vinegar! When my steak came (which I had ordered blue) it was overcooked and my "mushroom sauce" was in fact a... More

We went to the Boatshead for dinner on a short trip to Cornwall and were throughly impressed. As it was January not everywhere was open so I called ahead but when we got there realized this was probably not necessary. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves and our waitress was lovely. We ordered the mussels and the king prawn... More

As we book one of the owners properties whenever we go to Penzance, it seems only right that we go to his restaurant at least once during our stay. This time it was our last night and between the five of us, we had Brill, Sea Bass, Black Sea Bream, Prawns, and Steak. Nothing was left with the Bream and... More

We phoned and booked a table but when we arrived there was no booking for us. However, there were tables available so it wasn't a problem. Overall, the food was good. The wine was nice. The young girl, who was on her own, coped well. But there were a few niggles. The table didn't seem to be particularly clean and... More

Two visits in 4 days. The Cornish seafood has been a favourite of mine for ages so couldn't resist it again. Cooked beautifully and good portion sizes. It was very quiet which is to be expected given the time of year and weather. Ideal if you want a quieter evening! The member of staff which served us both nights was... More

Not at all busy as out of season but still very fresh and the presentation was stunning. The atmosphere is lovely and the waitress very attentive. The salad with the food is superb - would love to know the recipe for their dressing! All in all great value, great food and a great evening.

We ate here twice and had wonderful meals. The seafood here and their soups are great. The inside décor is very charming and lives up the name Boatshed. The service was great. Would definitely return here if we come back to Penzance.

This little restaurant and bar was found by just wandering along the sea front. It does not have the best external appearance, especially at this time of year (October), but inside the welcome was warm and the food very pleasant. Service was good and the young waitress very helpful and polite. I would recommend this place to anyone on a... More

Went in for dinner...saw a special on the menu board at the door that sounded great. (Monkfish). We were seated immediately (only 2 other tables occupied and there were 2 waitresses on duty.) Ordered our beverages...which were presented to us in a reasonable time. Waitress came back to take our order, never offered to tell us about the "specials". We... More
