Great coffee shop, friendly staff and good selection of cakes and beverages; attracts a nice repeat customer base! Good location off high street.

Popped in to try the breakfast. It was nice but thought it was overpriced for what it was. Nice setting but thought service was slow. Only 3 tables occupied at the time.

Having had to change our plans we chose this restaurant for our anniversary lunch having used them twice before in previous years. We had a warm and friendly welcome and excellent well prepared food from the specials on the board. Service was attentive but relaxed and we were not neglected when the restaurant became full. Highly recommended.

Popped into Alverne for a light lunch. Bit non-descript from the outside, but inside was pleasant enough. We opted for the pepper and butternut squash soup, which was very good - creamy, a little spice coming through, nicely garnished. The accompanying bread was warm and well baked too. However, I just couldn't get over the feeling it was slightly over... More

We stopped here after seeing the sign outside advertising some of the items off the menu. Even though we got there after 11.30 the staff were more than happy to still serve us from the breakfast menu!! The breakfast was absolutely delicious and everything even the tomato was tasty. Would def go back!!

This is really a tremendous, family run restaurant. We went between 6-6.30 when there is an early bird special offer. We couldn't fault it. Every course was excellent and the service was helpful and friendly. When we asked for slight changes to our menu, they were agreed with complete willingness, and absolutely no fuss. We would definitely go again and... More

We went for dinner on a Thursday. Two of us had whitebait followed by burger and chips. All v good. One of us had the veggie stacker, which was fine. Priced reasonably, good service. Was a little quiet in the place but got busier before we left at about 10pm. All in all a nice dinner.

Called in without a reservation on the evening that Hurricane Bertha was to hit - fancied a treat rather than sitting in a tent listening to the wind and rain! The food was amazing - seems like they use only fresh and local ingredients. Everything that we were served tasted delicious. Service was really good, friendly and quick. They were... More

Called in early evening prior to a bank holiday weekend as other restaurants were full! A small but friendly place with good staff, good food choice that is well prepared. There is a rather unusual water feature in the main dining area but it is not intrusive. As stated the food was very good and the deserts equally so, all... More
