Good Chinese meal

Went to the Sea Palace on the recommendation of a neighbour as we generally eat with friends at a different Penzance Chinese restaurant. The food and ambiance we enjoyed. It was very quiet when we visited and we chose to have the set banquet. Good starters, crispy Duck, then 3 very tasty mains... read more

Second visit to the sea palace and yet again the food did not disappoint however the furnishings inside need a complete overhaul , looks dated and tired. You need to book prior to ,which indicates that the locals enjoy it. Staff friendly and polite and food offered up in very good time.

We have used this Chinese restaurant for many years and have never been disappointed, whether a great meal downstairs or a takeaway. Always either excellent or very good and we take visitors and friends there who are always very happy with their meals, and not just because I pick up the bill. I'm always happy with the reasonable costs too.... More

four of us had a nice meal here, the food was good and prices reasonable. However I imagined the place to be damp, the carpet is dirty and I felt claustrophobic down in a basement. I wouldn't go again. But I liked the food and the staff were very good and polite

The worst Chinese meal we have ever had!! The restaurant is in a cellar, it's absolutely filthy and cold. The food was terrible, the meat smelt off so ate nothing, even the prawn crackers weren't very nice. Waitresses didn't know what to do . When coming to pay, the card machine was playing up. The waitress walked off with our... More

If you ignore the 1980s decor, and the place being rammed full of locals (you always have to book) then you have a decent enough place for dinner. If you didn't know the place was here you'd walk past it. I suppose that's how the locals like it. The waiting staff were young, bored and uninterested. They didn't know what... More

Good food with good friends .We visit a couple of times a year and have done so for many years never had a bad meal.Would agree that it could do with a coat of paint outside but that shouldnt stop people trying the good food inside. Will be booking a table again soon.

We visited this restaurant last night after reading the generally positive reviews on TripAdvisor. Where do I start with this truly awful restaurant. The location and frontage is poor, the service feels rushed, the staff are incredibly young and I assume therefore inexperienced and finally the actual food is, well, almost beyond believe in its paucity. We ordered the set... More

We all fancied chinese, but looking at ratings and reviews this was going to be hard to find until this one popped up. SO GLAD WE CHOSE THIS! Do not hesitate to visit! There were 7 of us celebrating my birthday holiday and once we entered we were greeted and were offered the drinks menu in the waiting area so... More
