Called in on spec for a Sunday carvery recently and were not disappointed in any way. The meals were very reasonably priced, there was plenty of meat (beef, gammon and lamb if you wanted all 3!) and at least 8 or 9 veg to choose from. The plates were hot, if not very hot, as was all of the veg.... More

Comes a true and positive benefit. We hadn't been to the Lanherne for years. Kept ignoring it and then my Father in Law died and there was the inevitable talk about the wake. I suggested the Lanherne, mainly because it's at the bottom of my Mother in Law's road. They did us proud and we gave my Father in Law... More

Nice pub with a warm welcome from friendly staff. The meal was good quality and value for money. Would go again.

We ate at the Lanherne on 4 different nights during our holiday in Newquay (2 adults + 2 teenagers) and all of the meals were lovely, fresh and cooked to order. The staff were very friendly and the place had a great atmosphere. The carvery on Sunday night was busy, but the food was still great and we will definitely... More

She had heard good things so wanted to find out what it was like. We were a little concerned with the recent bad reviews but can honestly say the Sunday roast we had was really tasty. The staff were very friendly and we had no complaints. She has already announced we are going back so that is a very good... More

The Sunday carvery we had for 5 people was not good at all The meat, Beef and the Lamb was really tough, you could not cut it and chewing it was really hard work, I left over half of mine I'm told the Gammon was good The rest of the meal was OK If I had not paid upfront I... More

Third-class food (a lamb curry with rice dish that contained no lamb and dry, overcooked rice), that was very expensive and served by staff who offered very little service. It used to be a fine establishment but not anymore, and no, I'd not eat there again. Friends and family thought likewise with their poor offerings.

They used to do a lovely Sunday carvery but we went there tonight and the food was so awful it actually made me feel sick... I ordered a nut roast which I was told will be brought to my table but it never turned up... Their desserts, puddings etc come from a freezer and those same puddings have been on... More

After walking out from a near by pub/restaurant due to hideous customer service. We were feeling slightly fragile. However, from the moment we walked in, to the moment we left we gained some faith in Newquay hospitality! The waitress' and chefs were so friendly and the carvery was simply stunning. Highly recommended and we cannot wait to come back (Probably... More

On our regular weekly visits the landlady and staff go out of their way to make sure all our needs are met. The food is excellent pub grub, keep promising ourselves one of their renowned Sunday lunches. By the way, the hanging flower displays are fantastic admired by all who pass by.
