Good run family pub

Great family pub with a very high standard of food, service and cleanliness. The owner should be proud of her pub and her staff.

Firstly telephoned by mobile in Truro to enquire with 25mins to get there. Upon arrival the host was very helpful and understanding. We found this on google looking for a carvery with good reviews on trip adviser. We arrived at 1.57 pm they finished serving lunch at 2.00 pm. We were welcomed with open arms. Brilliant service at carvery by... More

Staff very helpful and friendly. Choice of Roast beef, Turkey or Lamb very generous portions of meat carved and served by the chef, you help yourself to roast potatoes, variety of veg and gravy, as much as you could eat. Cost £9.25 per adult £6.50 child. They also had quite a big choice of other dishes if you wished to... More

We booked a table for six people for an early evening Carvery. If you enjoy a tasty meal, then I recommend this place. Everything not only looks so good, but tastes lovely and fresh too. I think this is the best Carvery in town and is value for money as well.

The service was polite and friendly and the food was self service but Top class. Overall a value for money belly busting Sunday roast with enough meat and veg... More

Our annual September holiday in Newquay and as usual we made a beeline for The Lanherne. Always a friendly greeting, was introduced to the new chef who seems very personable and good at his job. Food choice was varied, enjoyed a nice mixed grill. Nice to see Anne, Graham, Christine and Natalie again. Special shout out to Chris - girl... More

Was tipped off about this place for Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed. I can take or leave carvery as I can normally do a lot better than is on offer, though washing the pots is not my thing. They do 2 sitting, 12-2 and 6-8.30, which we thought was strange but we booked in for 6pm as we... More

Had been here once a few years previous and had a good meal. So decided to try again with family. Friendly efficient waitresses. Extensive menu. Food delicious and didn't have to wait long. Minor point was steaks slightly over cooked but as meal was still so lovely we overlooked this.
