Good food and drink, big portions and well priced. Staff were friendly and is better inside than it looks from the outside

Friendly service. Reasonable steak and ale pie. Fish had soggy batter - a let down for a seaside eatery. Handy for anybody on Porth Beach, with Parking for customers.

Wow what a fab night my friends & I had at The Mermaid this weekend, Friday 13th was Rudi's Message & they did not disappoint, as expected, the place was packed out! It has recently been opened right up, it would appear they have removed one of the walls in the back bar which means you can see the band... More

The staff are rude and miserable feel as if they don't want to speak to you, the food is over priced and nothing special. There are leak patches on the roof dripping on customers. Used to be a pleasure in the summer now is a waste of time. The atmosphere is crap and would never go again

On a recent visit to Newquay my husband and myself called in to watch the rugby and have a meal as we were staying in the hotel just up the road. A little dubious when first entering as the place looked more like a café than a pub or restaurant but we're so pleased we stayed there rather than going... More

So been coming here since 1996 would never dream of not popping in when in Cornwall. Only this evening we have noticed the pub is getting with the times and they've done a great job. But no one can tell me where the dolphin sign has gone???? My children have had pictures by this every year :) Also bring back... More

In a lovely location looking down the beach and out to sea. This is a little gem of a place. Sunday lunch carvery, with excellent choice of meats and vegetables at a super, super price. No wonder they were packed-out!

My son and I had lunch here during a recent stay in Newquay. I was a bit wary when I saw the entrance hall-way lined with slot machines, but once we entered the actual restaurant, it was open and bright, with a just gritty enough beach flavor. It's the kind of place I would go with my friends at happy... More
