I live in Porth and I have visited this pub various times over the years . I have not been for over a year . On sitting at the table my arms stuck to the table so I asked the bar assistant for a cloth to wipe it . I was told " The tables have been re varnished that... More

We were staying local and due to the inclement weather decided to try this place, the outside is a typical eat and scoot type, they have two areas for food we walked into the back area designated for families, and walk straight out the noise level was horrendous shouting and screaming, alright I appreciate kids can make a lot of... Whilst staying at the holiday park as motorhome tourers this pub became our "local". Every meal we had was freshly prepared & of excellent quality. Staff are very friendly, this is a dog friendly pub, which also caters for families. There is an outside area which is directly on to the beach, perfect for alfresco dining experience. The waffles are... More

While on holiday we popped into the Mermaid Inn for a bite to eat and a beer. The food and beer was excellent so no complaints there. I think the pub itself could do with a lick of paint and a bit of an update, but thats only my personal opinion, and does not reflect on the quality of the... More

Staff were generally friendly, nice selection of drinks and food looked amazing. Selection of entertainment on certain evenings. Shame dogs weren't allowed on beach during summer months.

After reading some of the negative reviews on tripadvisor I can understand the comments, however - this is a perfect location for late afternoon drinks on the lovely porth beach. Yes it could do with a makeover cosmetically but I would question how long that would last with sand being brought in off the beach and I would expect it... More

Had to wait 45 minutes for food (though we were told that was the wait) as it was rather busy being bank holiday weekend.. Probably took more like 30 mins anyway. Everyone really enjoyed their meals and it was worth the wait. Home cooked food not like any of that wetherspoons rubbish and really good portions. Good selection of drinks... More

Popped in for a drink at lunchtime and booked a table for the evening as we knew it would be busy. Table duly reserved, food large portions, well cooked , chef forgot to cook my meal so I ended up eating after everyone else had finished. Fish cakes when they arrived were cold inside. Staff waiting on tables were very... More

We visited Porth beach and as this is the only pub around we decided to get a drink. The pub hasn't been decorated since about the 1980's! It's so out of date, a bit dirty and full of families staying at a near by campsite. Wouldn't recommend.

My wife and I stayed in a local hotel and ate at The Mermaid once. It is deceptively large inside, with separate dining areas for adults and families, which is most welcome. Background music wasn't too loud. We had a steak and fish/chips. Nicely cooked and good size portions. They served a couple of ales and these were in good... More
